Principal Process EngineerStatus: Exempt (Salaried)Position SummaryPlug Process System is looking for all levels of Process Engineers for our office in The Houston, TX. The successful candidate will begin to take direct engineering responsibility for the design of process technologies. The incumbent is the technical contact for all matters related to the process technology including but not limited to H2 liquefaction, gas processing, acid gas removal.Ideal candidates will have experience in natural gas and cryogenic processing technologies, which can include cryogenic air separation, natural gas liquefaction, hydrogen liquefaction, helium processing and liquefaction, etc.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesParticipating in development of project and process design premisesObtaining and defining process design data as neededPreparing conceptual level simulations to evaluate technology options, such asPreparing reports and evaluations of process schemes in terms of economics, operability, efficiency, and safetyPreparing PFD’s, UFD’s, H&MB’s, Material Selection Diagrams, & Preliminary P&ID’sWorking with the EPC Contractor to deliver required information at the boundaries for balance of the plantParticipating in safety and risk assessmentsMaintaining progress, integrity, quality and accuracy of process design workEnsuring Plug’s minimum standards are maintained throughout the design processPreparing and/or checking designs, performing ratings and ensuring that specifications for process equipment are metReviewing mechanical and vendor datasheetsParticipating in manufactured equipment reviews, module check-outs & P&ID walk-downsParticipating in commissioning, start-up and post startup support as requiredTroubleshooting and resolving post startup operational issues on an as needed basis Prepare Process Flow Diagrams, equipment data sheets and equipment lists Own the development of Piping and Instrumentation DiagramsPerform process systems calculations, including line sizing, hydraulic evaluations and relief valve sizingWrite process descriptionsProvide process data to the Instrument, Controls and Electrical Department for the preparation of instrument data sheetsCheck process engineering work performed by other Process EngineersAssist in the preparation of Start-up and Operating ManualsExempt employees are expected to work as many hours as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities.  This may require they work more than eight hours a day and more than five days or 40 hours per week.Education and ExperienceMinimum Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering, higher education is a plus.8 to 15 years of process engineering experience with process engineering assignments of increasing responsibility, complexity, and scopeproficiency of overall process design, including Hysys simulation, process controls, equipment specification, P&ID and HAZOPCandidates for this U.S. position must be a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as permanent resident, refugee or asyleeUnderstands applicable engineering codesWorking knowledge of Microsoft OfficeProven teamwork skills Sound organizational skills for completing tasks as scheduledStrong communication skills both verbal and written for the purpose of explaining challenges and solutions internallyGood interpersonal skills to successfully interface other engineering disciplines and customersPay Rate:$86,815.00 - $138,904.00We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓ Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
