Electrical Engineer – Harnesses & RoutingStatus: Exempt (Salaried) Department: EngineeringPosition SummaryThe Electrical Engineer will work with the electrical engineering team to develop technical information for electric interconnect diagrams, harness drawings and work with design team for space claims, routing and harness management. The ideal candidate for this position will possess a thorough knowledge of electronics and testing equipment, along with the ability to communicate effectively in a team environment. The Electrical Engineer must be prepared to adapt to the changing needs of a fast-paced engineering environment.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesAbility to read system P&ID and generate electrical interconnect diagramsDesign of harnesses and packaging of electrical componentWork directly with engine architect to identify space claim, routing, cable protection and cable management devicesShould be able to spec out wire sizing, connectors, terminals.Ability to read and understand PCBA and SchematicsCreate and debug wire harnessesWork with suppliers to develop harnesses & related harness componentsDebug and test electrical circuits and systemsSetup and operate electrical test equipmentWork with high voltage circuitry up to 1500VMaintain up-to-date knowledge of Plug Power productsContribute to 5S efforts and support all standards of organization, safety and cleanliness in the departmentAnalyze data and prepare reports as needed in the course of workAdhere to safety standards at all times; this includes all OSHA regulations and facility safety policiesPerform other duties as assignedSome travel requiredEducation and Experience Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or demonstratable field experience that shows the core duties and responsibilities can be met2 or more years of experience in harness designFamiliarity with designing for the Automotive Electrical Vehicle market is a plus.Familiar with working with large partner automotive groups.Familiar with designing equipment that achieves IP67 rating.Experience with hazardous area designHigh-Voltage & High-Power ExperienceTechnical Leadership and an interest in mentoring will be a plusTechnical Writing Skills.Pay Rate:$62,700.00 - $94,050.00We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
