We have hundreds of services deployed across global environments using our top-notch CI/CD pipeline.Within Genesys Cloud, the Genesys Cloud Supportability team provides tooling for customers and internal employees to optimize our customer care. Our team owns a set of internal and customer facing features and application consist of multiple microservices and UIs. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for day-to-day development and maintenance of your team’s features and be at the center of the entire lifecycle from idea to release of widely used features. Major Responsibilities/ActivitiesWork with team members, project managers, and architects to establish feature requirements and service design.Analyze requirements for completeness, potential service impacts, and potential user impacts.Drive requirements through design, implementation, and deployment with accurate planning.Test your development with unit, integration, and manual testing.Work closely with testing team members to communicate potential impacts of your implementation and how to best test it.Participate in code reviews.Frequently communicate within and outside of the team to exchange ideas, communicate progress, and answer questions.Monitor our team’s services for potential scale concerns, security vulnerabilities, and unexpected failures.Serve on on-call rotation.Minimum Requirements4+ years of software engineering experience with 2 most recent years working in cloud development.Strong understanding of Amazon Web Services. Experience with EC2, S3, DynamoDB, and Lambdas preferred.High proficiency in Java.Demonstrable experience in JavaScript.Experience building backend REST APIs.Familiarity with microservice design principles.Understanding of DevOps development best practices including continuous delivery, logging, and monitoring.Good verbal and written communication skills.Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline.Work ContextLegally eligible to work in the U.S.Compensation:This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range listed below. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location.
