As part of the Sonos team, you’ll collaborate with people of all styles, skill sets, and backgrounds to realize our vision while fostering a community where everyone feels included and empowered to do the best work of their lives.As part of the Sonos Advanced Technology team, you will be responsible for researching and designing advanced battery management systems (BMS) which are adaptable, reliable, precise, and leverage the full capability of various battery technologies to enhance the consumer experience of Sonos’ next-generation devices.We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer with a proven track record of designing battery management systems (protections, fuel gauge, HW/SW) to join our growing team. The preferred location for this role is our beautiful Boston Office and Lab and relocation support is available.What You Love to Do:Research existing and new battery management system technologies.Evaluate, design, and test BMS under the scope of Sonos’ products.Develop a holistic battery management system with a platform approach and focus on accuracy, adaptability, power efficiency, safety, thermal management, level of integration, reliability, and cost.Lead and perform a schematic, circuit, and PCB designs for proof of concept and conduct performance tests under various environmental and usage conditions. Develop BMS requirement documents, including specifications, performance requirements, form factor dependencies, test, and validation plans.Create and maintain a trend report on BMS technologies. What You’ll Need Basic Qualifications: BS degree in Electrical Engineering, MS in Electrical Engineering is a plus At least 4+ years of engineering experience related to battery electronicsAt least 6+ years of programming experience (Linux, Embedded C/C++, Python, MATLAB)Schematic/PCB design and electrical debugging experienceAbility to organize failure analysis, lead technical discussions, and communicate effectively in a team setting. Must be able to work in our Boston office. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with BMS and fuel gauging and fuel-gauging algorithmsExperience in analog and mixed circuit design, including protection circuits, ADCs, DACs, signal conditioning, thermal management, and low-power microcontrollersEmbedded Firmware programming skillsExperience in creating specifications and requirement documentsWe consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, which may cause compensation to vary depending on your skills, experience and qualifications.  This job is also eligible for discretionary bonuses as well as an opportunity to become a Sonos shareholder because all full time employees are eligible for stock grants.  The minimum base pay may be modified in the future based on changing market conditions.
