As a Sr SDET, you will represent the Software Quality Engineering discipline in the Software Engineering group. You will have a direct impact on the business, advancing major player software components for Sonos. You will be expected to understand the software features being built and determine the best course of action to test those features in an automated fashion. In addition, you will work with a team of industry-leading innovators across many different disciplines such as App, Audio, Bluetooth, RF and User experience. If you love music, solving challenging problems and delivering high-quality products, we want to talk with you!What You’ll Do Advocate Software Quality within SonosReview requirements, behavior specifications, and design documents to begin test development early and uncover issues prior to implementation.Proactively work with developers to debug software/hardware solutions during NPI.Define and develop test automation to improve testing efficiency and coverage.Write tests that exercise audio pipeline and integrate into the automation framework.Log, track and triage bugs to determine root cause and establish prioritization.Monitor, debug, and fix breakages within our automated infrastructure.Add and democratize new forms of data and metrics to allow the team to make decisions on where to focus and improve our tests.Be an active participant and engaged part of your Scrum team – you are the voice of both quality and the customer during the development process.What You’ll NeedBasic QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experienceExperience implementing/maintaining software test automation for embedded systemsDeep understanding and working knowledge on Linux as a Dev/Test PlatformDemonstrated proficiency writing code for automation with one or more of the following: Python/Pytest, C/C++Domain knowledge of Embedded Systems and working closely with HardwareFamiliarity with audio codecs (e.g. AAC, MP3, OGG, WAV, Dolby Digital) and metadataBasic understanding of Bluetooth, HDMI, CEC & network protocolsBasic understanding of networks, switches, routers, VLANs Experience with GitHub and Jenkins CI/CD to create build and deployment pipelinesLeveraging Data Instrumentation and Telemetry for Software Quality.Additional technologies we use across other teamsEmbedded, Restful API and Cloud automation testing tools GDB or any other debugging mechanisms for white box testingKubernetes and Docker containerizationTableau, DataDog and other system reliability and quality tracking toolsOpen API Specifications, Data Telemetry and Code InstrumentationLocation: Boston - hybridThis is a hybrid role that will need to access our Boston office up to a few days a week Relocation assistance can be provided on an as needed basisWe consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, which may cause compensation to vary depending on your skills, experience and qualifications. This job is also eligible for discretionary bonuses as well as an opportunity to become a Sonos shareholder because all full time employees are eligible for stock grants. The minimum base pay may be modified in the future based on changing market conditions.
