The problems are complex, and the solutions must be elegant. Sonos needs high-energy, innovative engineers to help fuel our rocketing success. We are setting new standards for the audio industry and reshaping the way consumers engage with music. As an Application SDET you will be responsible for the software that our customers interact with every day. You’ll be applying your creativity and engineering skills to help build brand new, robust, feature sets that enable customers to configure their systems and control the content that they listen to. An ideal candidate will be highly customer focused, data driven, passionate about quality and have a proven record of working effectively across functional organizations and various disciplines. In addition, the ideal candidate is someone who loves to code and will have a proven track record of developing and using telemetry to improve quality. They should be a technical leader capable of driving product instrumentation and automation strategies with a data driven quality approach.  What You’ll Do Dive into the Sonos system architecture and experience, which includes mobile controllers, cloud, restfulAPIs, and Web, learning through first hand experienceMonitor, debug and improve our automated & analytics infrastructureAdd and democratize new forms of telemetry, data, and metrics to allow the team to measure, debug, and make decisions based on data analytics and dashboardsOwn and update the development experience via automated pipelines that includes timely feedback and a seamless path to release-level qualityCreate new automation suitesEngineer new automated testing methodologiesOwn services from end-to-end by being part of the on-call rotationCollaborate with different teams when issues are found in deployed/production featuresMentor other members of the team to expand their technical competencies and utilize software engineering best practices What You’ll Need Basic Qualifications:Demonstrated experience programming in Swift & Objective-C OR Kotlin & JavaYou have contributed to an app that is available in the Apple App Store or Google Play StoreYou are skilled at investigating issues and solving problemsYou have experience with common source code control systems (e.g. git), code reviews, version control and code quality tools (e.g.SonarQubes)Your have great written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications:You may have experience with C++, Flutter, or Web DevelopmentExperience or exposure to developing and testing distributed systemsBasic Data Analytics and experience with Tableau, Kibana, DataDog or other system reliability and quality tracking toolsKnowledge of CI/CD automated pipeline, working with mobile based architecturesExperience with UX design tools and specifications (e.g. Figma)#LI-RemoteWe consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, which may cause compensation to vary depending on your skills, experience and qualifications.  This job is also eligible for discretionary bonuses as well as an opportunity to become a Sonos shareholder because all full time employees are eligible for stock grants.  The minimum base pay may be modified in the future based on changing market conditions.
