By understanding how our customers listen in their homes (and beyond), the Product Data team uses data to guide and influence the product direction and improve the customer experience. As the Data Engineering Manager for the Product Data Team, you will be responsible for leading and growing a data engineering team. The team is responsible for ensuring data quality, designing data models, and developing data pipelines that enable insights and inform product decisions. What You’ll DoLead and grow our data engineering team, including setting goals, providing guidance, and conducting performance reviewsWork closely with data analysts, data scientists, engineers, and product managers to understand data needs and requirementsDesign, develop, and maintain our product data infrastructure, including data models, ETL pipelines, and data storage solutionsEnsure data quality and accuracy through testing, monitoring, and data validationCollaborate with other engineering teams to integrate data systems and toolsStay up-to-date with modern data tools and technologies, and make recommendations for improvements and changes as neededDevelop and maintain documentation for data systems and processesWhat You’ll NeedBasic QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field2+ years of experience leading a team5+ years of experience in data engineeringStrong knowledge of modern data tools and technologies, including Snowflake, Elasticsearch, dbt, and othersExperience with designing and developing data models and ETL pipelinesStrong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teamsStrong problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex data problemsExperience with agile methodologies and project managementPreferred QualificationsExperience working with IoT data Experience working with data to improve customer experience Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOpsWorking knowledge of at least one public cloud stack (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)Proficiency in Python #LI-RemoteWe consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, which may cause compensation to vary depending on your skills, experience and qualifications.  This job is also eligible for discretionary bonuses as well as an opportunity to become a Sonos shareholder because all full time employees are eligible for stock grants.  The minimum base pay may be modified in the future based on changing market conditions. The starting minimum base pay for this role is: $162,000We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including open time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and other benefits subject to eligibility requirements. Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable.
