We have offices in Boston, Seattle, Santa Barbara, San Francisco & Paris. However, we believe that where you work is less important than the impact you make through your work. This role can be done from anywhere in the United States or Canada. If you want an in-office experience, any of our offices are open to you but you can also work remotely from home. As a front end engineer, you will be an integral part of a team delivering new products that bring Sonos’ value to the professional realm. You will build experiences that make it easier for system administrators and business owners to manage their Sonos systems across multiple locations. You’ll view shipping V1 as the start of a journey and will rapidly and continuously learn from our customers and iterate.Note, we are looking for someone who is senior level and minimum three years experience. What You’ll Do:Develop software that enhances the user experience informed by the user’s role and persona.Bring new and existing aspects of the Sonos experience to the web browser.Collaborate with UX designers, product management, and QA to iterate and continuously deliver new value to customers.Work cross-team with backend engineers to help design new APIs in support of the frontend capabilities you are building.Ensure the features you are building are maintainable: have appropriate unit, integration, and functional tests executable via automation, support appropriate levels of logging, and report usage and performance metrics Skills You’ll NeedBasic Qualifications:Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience.Proven track record of shipping reliable, extensible and maintainable web applications.Strong knowledge of front end development using state of the art Javascript frameworks, HTML, CSS, and web application development tools.Degree in Computer Science, related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with modern declarative JavaScript frameworks such as React, Next.js, or Vue.Experience with strong typing via TypeScript or Flow.Experience with technologies that support web applications: serverless, Vercel, Docker, Kubernetes, api gateways, etc. We consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, which may cause compensation to vary depending on your skills, experience and qualifications.  This job is also eligible for discretionary bonuses as well as an opportunity to become a Sonos shareholder because all full time employees are eligible for stock grants.  The minimum base pay may be modified in the future based on changing market conditions. The starting minimum base pay for this role is: $114,000We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including open time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and other benefits subject to eligibility requirements. Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable.
