You will enable your team to create experiences that allow users realize the fullest potential of the Sonos system, both in the home and away from home. Through your leadership, your team will collaborate with other teams on initiatives that span across the organization. This includes staffing allocation, project management and documentation.Partner with leaders across the organization to develop processes and strategies for producing new features and products that delight our customers.Work closely with cross functional teams to understand business requirements and product architecture across multiple disciplines of software, hardware, acoustics, networking and wireless technologies. Focus on delivering the highest quality software through manual and automation testing, as well as using telemetry to understand real-world usage to drive product improvements.Coach team members on software development skills, leadership responsibilities and help guide their professional development to grow their careers.What You’ll NeedBasic Qualifications7+ years of experience in software development with at least 3+ years of leading teams.Experience with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or other wireless technologies.Familiarity with RTOS-based systems such as FreeRTOS and ThreadXAbility to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively. Track record of shipping reliable, extensible and maintainable software at scale.Working knowledge of C with strong problem-solving skills.Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline; or equivalent industry experience. Preferred QualificationsUnderstanding of how to develop and maintain embedded systems.Experience leading a team through system architecture design.Familiarity with firmware and wireless debugging tools, e.g. packet analyzers and logic analyzers.Experience working with radio chip manufacturers to resolve issues and deliver value add features.Experience in software development for commercial products.#Remote-LIWe consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, which may cause compensation to vary depending on your skills, experience and qualifications. This job is also eligible for discretionary bonuses as well as an opportunity to become a Sonos shareholder because all full time employees are eligible for stock grants. The minimum base pay may be modified in the future based on changing market conditions.
