We are looking for a strong Quality leader to oversee our Transportation sector for our space plane variants including our current build of Tenacity, our future crewed version and more! In this role, you will responsible to ensure that quality requirements are met, work Corrective Actions and Preventative Actions, analyze and streamline processes, drive Continuous Improvement activities and provide guidance to multiple organizations. You will oversee a large team of Quality Engineers, Quality Inspectors, and collaborate with product assurance managers across multiple sites including Colorado, Kennedy Space Center, Madison and Durham. You will be expected to mentor and direct your team, develop actionable metrics, and communicate effectively with executive leadership, NASA, and our partners. You will develop internal requirements for supporting organizations and our partners for new and exciting programs, working with program managers, leadership, and peers to prevent downstream nonconformances. Learn more about Sierra Space Must-haves:Experience performing and managing Material Review Board activities based on MIL-STD-1520 / AS9100Experience creating/reviewing designs for spaceflight hardwareIn-depth knowledge in DCMA, NASA, Government and Commercial Space requirements and standardsIn-depth knowledge of AS9100 and CMMI standardsHighly skilled in balancing production and execution pressures with the discipline needed to ensure integrity of critical spaceflight hardware and softwareAbility to analyze, prioritize, assign and report on open Quality tasks across multiple programsAbility to communicate effectively with executive managementExperience managing staffing levels with a mix of funding from direct and indirect budgetsAbility to effectively build and work with teams across multiple disciplines, sites and sectorsExperience in developing metrics and KPI’s for driving action and communicating with executive leadership membersUnderstanding of continuous improvement methodologies, lean, 5S, GEMBAProven success developing company culture around quality and improvementPrepares product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trendsExceptional leadership skills to motivate and inspire direct reports and peersCritical thinker with effective interpersonal skills to negotiate creative solutions for complex compliance challenges involving multiple stakeholdersStrong corrective action and preventive action skills using 8D, 3x5 why, Ishikawa, CQI-20 and similar methodologiesResults driven while adhering to product and process requirementsPreferred:Certified Manager of Quality / Organizational ExcellenceExperience with reusable spaceflight hardware programsExperience throughout the lifecycle of product development with focus on design, manufacturing, test & operationExperience teaching and coaching quality inspection and assurance professionals on effectively complying with policies and instructionsThe ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required.
