The Internal Audit department’s mission is to enhance and protect Sierra Space’s organizational value by providing risk-based and objective assurance, advice, and insight. We play an integral role in the assuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with policies, procedures, and applicable laws, and the evaluation and enhancement of the Company’s critical business processes. The Internal Audit team conducts risk-based financial and operational audits, ensures compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and leads special projects and investigations in accordance with the team’s plan. You will lead and conduct walkthroughs, perform testing, and report on SOX controls to ensure Sierra Space’s compliance with SOX Leading and performing a variety of operational audits and specials projects with responsibility to perform risk assessments, develop audit programs, conduct testing, and working closely with management teams in developing audit findings and recommendations as well as following up on agreed-upon action plans Participating in annual planning, scoping, and budgeting of the audit plan across the companyLiaising with consultants, internal compliance teams and external auditors to manage audit requests and other audit coordination mattersActing as an Internal Audit ambassador to create awareness of internal controls compliance and leading risk-mitigation practicesAnalyzing financial and business process information to identify improvement opportunities, process insights, and evaluate adherence to control requirementsBuilding strong relationships with management, other compliance teams and external auditors to ensure partnership within the business and with key stakeholdersAssist in the performance of special projects and investigations as assignedMay require occasional domestic travelSierra Space, based in Louisville, Colorado with operations in Madison, Wisconsin and Durham, North Carolina, designs and manufactures advanced spacecraft, satellites, propulsion and environmental systems, spacecraft subsystems and components for the U.S. government (including NASA), commercial customers and international organizations.
