Join our team! As a Systems Engineer, you will be using your skills and expertise to research, architect, model, simulate, test, certify and improve cutting edge products and services. You'll be developing complex system architectures within contextual modeling platforms, ushering them from operational concept through preliminary and detailed design, simulation, and test using progressive tools. As a cross-functional engineer, you are in charge of system-level ownership of new products and processes through the product lifecycle.Does being part of the team to get a spaceplane to the International Space Station and back again sound exciting?   Sierra Space is seeking a candidate with experience in systems engineering and ground systems to join the Flight Operations – Mission Systems team.  As a member of this team you will be working on requirements and verification tasks to for the certification and future expansion of Control Center spaces and support hardware. You will also be working towards being a certified flight controller who will be responsible for facility configuration, testing, training, and execution of Dream Chaser mission operations from our Dream Chaser Mission Control Center located at Kennedy Space Center, Florida. In this role, you will contribute to the design, integration, testing, and maintenance of Dream Chaser Mission Control Center systems. These systems include the facilities, equipment, software, and communications infrastructure necessary to operate the Dream Chaser spacecraft and are used throughout spacecraft development, integrated testing, and real-time mission operations. You will work to refine operational concepts and plans, develop operations processes and products (including procedures, flight rules, timelines, telemetry displays, and more), develop training products (including lessons, reference materials, simulation scripts, and more), and support real-time missions in our Mission Control Center. Your work will ensure the success of the Dream Chaser mission. Sierra Space, based in Louisville, Colorado with operations in Madison, Wisconsin and Durham, North Carolina, designs and manufactures advanced spacecraft, satellites, propulsion and environmental systems, spacecraft subsystems and components for the U.S. government (including NASA), commercial customers and international organizations.
