As a thermal protection system CNC Programmer/Machinist IV, you will be responsible for programming and machining thermal protection parts and materials for Sierra Space’s Dream Chaser®. You'll be responsible for programming, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting CNC mills and/or machining tools and equipment to meet established specifications and requirements. You will be the primary programmer/operator who defines the tools and techniques to optimize our manufacturing solutions. You will also have additional opportunities to cross-train across all aspects of thermal protection system production.Sierra Space, based in Louisville, Colorado with operations in Madison, Wisconsin, Durham, North Carolina, and Kennedy Space Center, Florida, designs and manufactures advanced spacecraft, satellites, propulsion and environmental systems, spacecraft subsystems and components for the U.S. government (including NASA), commercial customers and international organizations.
