The Software Integration Team Lead will have extensive knowledge of the software development lifecycle, the technical expertise to resolve complex problems in creative, efficient and effective ways and have a wealth of experience architecting, developing, integrating and testing complex embedded software applications. Special consideration will be given to candidates with practical experience in leading spacecraft flight software development efforts within the Aerospace & Defense industry as well as those with experience leading technical teams in the development and delivery of spacecraft-based software products. As a Flight Software Engineer at SNC, you will focus on the design, development and delivery of spacecraft software solutions for DoD applications. Solutions will include embedded, multi-domain space mission software architectures that stem from understanding, analyzing and evaluating spacecraft capabilities, mission concepts, and system requirements. Your work will ensure we meet customer requirements by making data-driven decisions in architecting, designing, developing, integrating and testing the design in both testbed prototypes and end flight units. Along the way, you will contribute to design trades and analyses of various architectures that include various real-time operating systems, embedded flight computers (and their resident flight software packages) as well as the communication between all flight hardware and software components. You will evolve or create new approaches based on trade/analysis results. You will also contribute to evaluating the mission effectiveness of the candidate approaches, balancing mission objectives against factors such as development and lifecycle costs.Candidates should consider this position for employment with Sierra Space (https://www.sierraspace.com/).
