This position is for interim employment under Sierra Nevada Corporation, then employment will transition to Sierra Space in the near term, as part of a strategic business partnership.The Senior Principal Systems Engineer – Lead Systems Integrator (LSI) will be responsible for the overall technical integrity and systems engineering process execution of a system development Line of Business within the National Security Space (NSS) business unit.  The LSI will serve as the technical authority for projects within their Line of Business (LoB) on behalf of the Engineering Director for National Security Space.  The LSI will integrate solutions across technical IPTs to meet requirements and business objectives for the LoB to support the LoB Program Manager.  The successful candidate will utilize a broad technical background and systems development expertise to collaborate with technical IPT leads, LoB Program Management and NSS leadership to solution challenging projects and ensure successful project execution.**Contingent upon contract award on or about May 1, 2023**Job duties will include:Developing and owning the technology roadmap for the LoB.Establishing and managing the LoB technical baseline(s).Ensuring cross-IPT technical integration and communication.Acting as technical focal point for internal and customer leadership.Identifying, managing and providing overall ownership of technical risks and mitigation strategies for the LoB.The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Learn more about IAS Must-haves:Bachelor's of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 14 or more years of relevant experience.Technical leadership experience, including typically 5 or more years of experience in a technical leadership role (e.g. IPT leadership, technical team leadership, or technical fellowship).Expert knowledge of systems engineering principles and practices, including systems design, technical baseline management, systems integration, technical risk management, and Verification and Validation (V&V), and system certification.Demonstrated ability to work and communicate seamlessly with management, technical engineers, customers and subcontractor stakeholders.Superb presentation skills with presentation experience to senior decision making and technical audiences.Ability to drive system design and element/subsystem interactions that meet mission goals while satisfying overall system requirements and system KSAs/KPPs.Thorough understanding of inter- and intra-subsystem interfaces, both logical and physical.Ability to work and communicate with technical and specialty subject matter expert engineers to understand and define systems.Desire for new challenges, to be on the ground floor of an exciting capability for our nation, and to be part of the initial cadre developing a new multi-domain system.Experience working on multi-disciplinary design and development teams.Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.An active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance is required.  Learn more about the background check process for Security Clearances ​Preferred:Master’s degree or higher in related field of study.Experience across all phases of the program development lifecycle, from capture through design, implementation and test.Experience with hardware and software development on novel platforms.Familiarity with Requirements Management and Model Based Systems Engineering tools, such as DOORS, CAMEO EA, Rhapsody, Matlab and SysML.Familiarity with DoDAF framework and associated design products.Familiarity with DoD Airworthiness process.Experience developing formal documentation for technical and contractual needs, such as technical reports and specifications, configuration documents and statements of work.Experience in technical project cost estimation and control account management (CAM).Professional certification in Program Management and/or Systems Engineering (INCOSE SEP, PMI, PMP).IMPORTANT NOTICEThis position requires current/active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance.
