If you already have a Candidate Account, please Sign-In before you apply.Job Description:Broadcom's Central Engineering Group (CEG) is looking for a talented semiconductor professional to join our team as a modeling engineer for the development and improvement of functional, timing, power, and DFT simulation models.  This role will focus on authoring, debugging, and optimizing memory IP (SRAM, RF, CAM, ROM, etc.) EDA models used in ASIC-like design flows by chip teams throughout the company.  This is a mid-level position with the expectation that the candidate can learn quickly, proactively navigate complex technical issues, and is able to work collaboratively to achieve strategic objectives.The candidate must prioritize well, communicate clearly and concisely,  deliver high quality solutions on-time, and possess excellent problem solving skills. This person will be expected to work across multiple facets of projects and juggle multiple responsibilities at the same time.Responsibilities:Candidate will Integrate automation software into memory compilers to generate CAE models used by chip design teams.Develop and debug software written primarily in Perl, with some Python.Execute third party tools such as Synopsys and Mentor, to verify memory models accurately reflect silicon behavior.Participate in forums for model development, improvement and reviews, and will serve as a knowledge resource for peers, colleagues, and subordinates in the organization.Continuously improve memory models and model generation flows for better performance, user experience, and quality.Work directly with IP design teams, compiler teams and tool vendors globally to help resolve model related issues, and find timely solutions.Respond to library support requests and address tickets on model issues from product teams across Broadcom.Qualifications:Must have a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or semiconductor curriculum with 3 or more years of semiconductor industry experience, or have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or semiconductor curriculum with 5 or more years of semiconductor industry experienceHave at least 2 years experience using Linux systems; possess excellent knowledge of Linux commands, file systems, and job execution.Conversant with the use and content of these ASIC models: Verilog RTL, Verilog Behavioral, Liberty Timing, Liberty Power, MBIST models, Test Vectors, and Verilog Synthesizable models.    Experience in writing directed test benches in Verilog for circuit verification.Must have knowledge and experience using simulators - NC, VCS, ModelSim, etc.Exposure to chip design tools and design flows, such as:DFT:  Tessent, LogicVision, BIST, and ATPG.Synthesis: Design Compiler.Simulation: VCS, Questa, Verilog, waveform viewers, and simulation debug.STA: Primetime.Power Analysis: Redhawk, Voltus.P&R: ICC, Innovus.Scripting & flow automation with most of these: Perl, Python, Tcl, Shell.Very good written and verbal communication skills.Good team player, methodical, eye for detail, independent, well organized, and have the ability to remain calm and composed in high pressure situations.Additional Job Description:Compensation and BenefitsThe annual base salary range for this position is $78,000.00 - $130,000.00.This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.Broadcom offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package: Medical, dental and vision plans, 401(K) participation including company matching, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company paid holidays, paid sick leave and vacation time.
