Senior Site Reliability Engineer

The Senior Site Reliability Engineer is responsible for leading infrastructure solutions in a cloud based environment. They are expected to identify, define, and develop new technologies and processes across various solutions with the goal of improving quality, reliability and efficiency. They work across product lines to reach standardization of tools and methodologies. The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will work to solve complex problems with autonomy to create a reliable and stable platform.The Senior Site Reliability Engineer must have experience developing software solutions and maintaining production systems.What You'll DoWrites tools and leverages open source technology to automate tasks with an emphasis on safety and repeatabilityCollaborates with engineers to ensure services are designed to be cloud-native, scalable, and easily operatedTroubleshoots and resolves performance and reliability issues across the stackWorks closely with Product teams to fully understand and resolve issues, concerns, and problems that might otherwise impede the delivery of high quality solutionDesigns systems to enable rapid development, high availability, and observabilityForecasts level of team effort in terms of quality and timelines by accurately estimating and defining tasksThinks holistically about changes and issues. Recognizes the implications of work that addresses the needs and concerns of the entire Workiva customer baseCreates innovative solutions that have positive, long-term resultsParticipates in on-call rotations which include 24x7 support of all of Workiva’s SaaS hosted environmentsUnderstands & fulfills customer needs & requirementsMaintains and improves the reliability and operability of all platform infrastructure and infrastructure management servicesWorks within planned budgets and timelines, and ensures quality of finished productWhat You'll NeedExpertise with Go and Python or other programming languageHigh Proficiency with Kubernetes, Cloudformation and TerraformHigh Proficiency  with Amazon Web Services, Google App Engine or Google Compute EngineExperience with Docker and Operating systems(Linux,Windows, etc) preferredExperience developing SLIs, SLOs and SLAsExperience with systems performance tuning and load testing preferredExperience with software development methodsUndergraduate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsSelf-motivated with strong propensity for action, results and continuous improvementThe ability to work successfully in a high-energy, fast paced and rapidly changing environmentExceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-taskMinimal travelReliable internet access for any period of time working remotely, not in a Workiva office.Available at all times during on call rotationsWhere You’ll WorkOur values drive how we work and who we hire.
