The Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) - International is responsible for maximizing shareholder value by providing financial and analytical insight into business performance, while helping inform and support decision making processes. Specifically the team provides analysis, reporting, planning, and supports decision-making for business leaders.This role will be a key strategic partner to Workiva’s operational leadership in the EMEA and APAC regions. Ideal candidates will come with prior experience inside of a SaaS software or technology organization to understand the nature of our business and the revenue model. Given the entrepreneurial nature of Workiva's international business, the role may also require an element of business operations, helping to implement important initiatives to drive performance improvements across the Go-To-Market functions.ResponsibilitiesPartners with company leadership to oversee and manage the development of budget and financial forecastEstablishes and maintains relationships and effectively communicates with customers, business unit leaders and senior management to raise visibility and ensure collaboration with appropriate key stakeholdersSupports fact based business decisions by providing analysis and information (including financial business cases), along with actionable recommendations where appropriateSupports strategic planning process, including providing analysis to supportSupports guidance process, as well as preparation for earnings reportingAnalyzes current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue (including bookings, retention, and related KPIs), cost of sales, expenses, operating cash flow, and capital expenditures. Monitors performance indicators, highlighting trends, analyzing causes of unexpected variances, and communicating to Senior Management.Supports Mergers & Acquisitions activity, primarily through financial analysisPartners with Corporate Accounting with respect to 10-Qs, and 10-Ks.Provides status of financial conditions of the company by collecting, interpreting and reporting key financial dataAdvises management of actions and financial risks and/or opportunities related to business proposals, market conditions, or business conditionsManages budget and controls expenses effectivelyHires, trains, mentors, develops and appraises staff effectivelyTakes corrective action as necessary on a timely basisKeeps up-to-date on information, technology, and best practices affecting functional area(s) to increase innovationProvides internal financial reporting and presentations, and presents to leadership and stakeholders​What You'll NeedEducationBachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related field required. Master’s degree in related field preferredFinancial certification, such as CFA, CMA, FMVA, or FPAC  a plusExperience5+ years of management experience in Finance, Accounting, Forecasting, or other Analytical function8+ years of progressive responsibilities in financial planning, budgeting, financial analysis, and/or business analysis roles2+ years directly supervising peopleSkillsAbility to design, build and maintain reliable and meaningful financial modelsStrong analytical skills. Includes demonstration of critical thinking skills, including the ability to question the output of a financial model and consider options for improvementExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
