The Senior Solution Engineer - Partnerships leads technical and solution mapping of a customer's needs to our application across one or more complex domain areas. This role will guide, direct and lead technical discussions on sales calls with customers and provide support for marketing through trade show attendance, presentations, product channel trainings, and webinar presentations and hosting. The Senior Solution Engineer is seen as a leader among their peers and proactively finds opportunities to have a cross-organizational impact and may help develop and mentor others. Leads self and provides expertise and guidance to other Solution Engineers.This role will be focused on working with Workiva’s ecosystem of Managed Services Providers (MSPs) and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs). Ideal candidates will have experience solving complex customer challenges with technology platforms and solutions and will have managed partner relationships - either within an Consulting organization or within a SaaS platform organization.ResponsibilitiesCoaches to pre-sales framework to engage customers and prospects via phone, web, or onsite meetings, drive the discovery process, and identify areas where Workiva solutions align to address customer/prospect needs.Develops best practices for customer success by working with Workiva Client Services team for smooth onboarding and long term success.Builds and presents business cases and proposals that articulate Workiva's value and ROI. Demonstrates expertise across multiple domain areas developing working knowledge of industries, departments, and use cases where Workiva can have an impact. Develops new use-cases or by using existing templates providing proof of our solution's impact and value proposition. Leads multi-solution, platform process assessments with customers and builds Proof of Concepts to validate requirements. Follows emerging market trends and provides guidance on their application to customers. Successfully leads multiple mentoring peers, onboarding new associates, cross-domain coaching, and leading on-going training. Consistently demonstrates proactive collaboration and feedback to product management teams to capture new customer requirements and enhancements. Consistently works with Product Marketing, Client Services, Scoping, and Customer Success to achieve team and company goals.Partners with sales to develop account plans in support of Workiva strategies and objectives.What You'll NeedEducation Undergraduate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.SkillsExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsSelf-motivated with strong propensity for action, results and continuous improvementA strong individual contributor with intellectual curiosity to positively impact accounts and opportunities and proven ability to manage multiple projects, programs, and processes.Experience with Analytics & Reporting solutions and their related technology platform (ERP, GRC, financial reporting, accounting or similar)Capability to gather business needs and present a value based, compelling software demonstrationExperience5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, internal audit, software development, technical sales, or a related field.2+ years of presales experience with Workiva solutions or other equivalent technology.Big Four or public accounting experience is a plus.Hands on technical experience with SaaS solutions, cloud technologies, and architecturesTravel RequirementsUp to 40% Working Conditions & Physical RequirementsReliable internet access for any period of time working remotely, not in a Workiva office.Where You’ll WorkOur values drive how we work and who we hire.
