As an essential part of the Analytics team, our Data Infrastructure group is responsible for building a platform layer of software products and services that operate at the scale needed to serve the world’s largest organizations.About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Software Engineering Manager with a strong background in building large scale, highly available, distributed systems. You will be responsible for multiple complex initiatives and delivering a multi-cloud platform layer to enable the huge scale growth of Workday’s Analytics products. You will also be responsible for:Growing and developing a group of highly skilled, passionate software engineers.Fostering a culture of collaboration with engineering and product leaders to set technical direction on requirements and scope.Devising and delivering the technical strategy for orchestration and platform management software products that operate in a highly available, resilient and multi-cloud environment.About YouBasic Requirements:5+ years experience in a software engineering management role with strong leadership skills.Proven experience in delivering large scale software products and services.Other Requirements:Experience in working with distributed systems, specifically, understanding the internals of typical Big Data systems (such as Hadoop, Spark, Google DataProc, AWS EMR, Kubernetes).Strong industry experience in building highly scalable systems and public cloud based architectures.Ability to influence best engineering practices through solid decision making, processes and tools.Experience in effectively working with cross-functional organizations.Proven ability to recruit and mentor high performing teams of engineers.Experience with Java, Scala.Are you being referred to one of our roles?
