We are committed to working hard and having fun while maintaining a culture of work-life balance.About the RoleWorkday is seeking a Senior Indirect Tax Manager to join a collaborative and growing indirect tax team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced indirect tax professional to work closely with tax leadership to help build and cultivate an outstanding indirect tax team.Responsibilities:Manage all U.S. indirect tax compliance, reporting and accounting activities of indirect taxes (including business license/property taxes).Handle product taxability matrix and system enablement, including minimizing risk and identify saving opportunities.Ensure Avalara is producing accurate taxability results and resolve any issues which are identified by the indirect tax team and/or other Workday teams.Lead the M&A domestic indirect tax analysis and system integration.Monitor the dynamic indirect tax landscape and assess and implement operational and compliance changes, as required.Manage state and local tax audits and VDAs.Ensure the compliance of internal controls and manage tax reserves.Business partnering with cross functional groups within the company to understand the tax impact of business operations and ensure tax needs are identified, considered and communicated.Drive continuous process improvements, focusing on controls, automation, efficiency, and analytics.Support and develop members of the indirect tax team.Work closely with Global Indirect Tax Director and wider indirect tax team to develop and implement indirect tax strategy.Manage outsourced third party service providers to ensure the service Workday receives is of a high standard and meets Workday’s requirements.About YouBasic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.10+ years of multistate indirect tax corporate experience.Other Qualifications:CPA preferred.Strong compliance skills and experience in sales and use tax.Experience in dealing with indirect tax audits.Foreign indirect tax experience is a plus.Experience with IT systems implementation projects related to transactional taxes is a plus.Workday ERP and Avalara experience a plus.Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Must embrace technology; digital literacy must be second nature.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of an organization.As a federal contractor, Workday is requiring all new hires to verify that they are fully-vaccinated against COVID-19 within 72 hours of beginning employment with Workday, consistent with applicable law. Workday is an equal opportunity employer. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
