This team enables Workday's analytics products to leverage Apache Spark to process large volumes of data for mission critical processing, interactive analysis and reporting. The team is responsible for design and development of new features in Spark as well as performance, stability, scalability and operations in a multi-tenant cloud environment.About the RoleAs part of Workday’s Analytics team, you will be responsible for building, enhancing and extending our Spark-based large scale distributed data processing engine in the cloud. You will work alongside a top-notch team to build features in Spark representing our:High-velocity hybrid transactional/analytical engineLow-latency interactive engineLarge scale cube builder engineDeveloping data processing algorithms and techniques that work on large datasets, and algorithms that facilitate interactive querying experience over large volumes of data will be among your primary responsibilities. About YouWe're open to hiring a junior or mid-level engineer for the role:Basic Qualifications - Software Development Engineer II1+ year of software development experience in an object-oriented or functional language in a Linux/Unix environment1+ year of experience in database internals, query processing, or distributed systemsBasic Qualifications - Software Development Engineer III3+ years of software development experience in an object-oriented or functional language in a Linux/Unix environment3+ years of experience in database internals, query processing, or distributed systemsOther QualificationsYou have a BS or greater in Computer Science.Experience with contributing to open source software.Good grasp of SQL and distributed data processing engines, especially SparkWork well in a team environment to collaborate with other engineers in the SCRUM team.Industry experience building and delivering high-performance data processing engines.LinkedIn and other job boards' estimated pay range does not represent the pay range of Workday.
