Workday’s analytics products span data acquisition, data preparation, data discovery, business intelligence, and augmented analytics/machine learning and use many open-source technologies like Hadoop, Spark and handle massive amounts of data using distributed systems and fault-tolerant architecture.About the RoleIf you bring your excellent programming, automation skills and curiosity about performance, we are willing to build that path! We are looking for an outstanding Software Development Engineer to join our Analytics Performance and Scalability Engineering team. Performance Software Engineers are highly skilled engineers who debug, measure, analyse, and improve our Workday Big Data Analytics applications and infrastructure by working closely with all our engineering teams throughout the release cycle.About YouBasic Qualifications (Mid Level) Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in Performance Engineering  or 3+ years of strong scripting automation background.Experience benchmarking applications with skills in modeling the system under load and tuning of the technology stackExperience in working with Distributed Systems, Java, J2EE, DatabasesExperience in scripting / programming with Java or Scala or Python or ShellExpertise in analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving complex issuesOther QualificationsAutomation, Performance, Load, Stress, and Scalability TestingExperience in developing automation of performance benchmarks through bamboo or TeamCity.Experience in testing full stack software either in UI, API, or database layerExperience in scrum practices like stand up and sprint planning using JiraAttention to detail and deep understanding of engineering standard methodologiesBasic Qualifications (Senior Software Engineer)8+ years of experience in Performance Engineering, including benchmarking large-scale systems & applications5+ years using Java, Scala or GoBS or MS degree in Computer Science, Math, or related fieldOther QualificationsExperience with Distributed Systems & understanding the internals of typical Big Data systems (Hadoop, Spark, Presto, Kubernetes)Experience in the internals of JVMs, performance profiling and optimizationExperience in analyzing Thread dumps, Memory dumps for bottlenecksAre you being referred to one of our roles?
