Our services must deliver outstanding performance at cloud-scale with zero downtime to our customers in a cost-effective way, and we are growing our DevOps capabilities to go to the next level.About the RoleThis role is all about identifying platform, software, and infrastructure issues and building proactive solutions that prevent future problems and reduce MTTR.  Our DevOps engineer will work across several teams to find opportunities to build self-service and automation tooling to help developers become more successful and ship faster and more confidently.  Some of the key responsibilities for the role include:Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and fixing production software issuesDevelop & improve our software monitoring solutionsCollaborate with software teams on system architecture and technology decisionsBuild and develop tools to automate our deployment pipelines and operational activitiesSupport and accelerate our transition to the public cloud.About YouWe need talented, creative and driven DevOps Engineers, like you, who really want to move the needle. You feel happiest when working with a highly capable and motivated team of people passionate about software and technology. Basic qualifications: 3+ years of building frameworks, automation, and tooling to enable a culture of quality within the organization.Using technologies like Kubernetes/Docker to help our developers scale their efforts in creating new and innovative products.Other Qualifications:Experience working with private and public clouds (IAAS, GCP, AWS, etc) and capacity management principles.Experience deploying to and orchestrating containers in production environments (Containers, Kubernetes, Service Mesh and related technologies).\Experience with communication protocols, restful services, service-oriented architecture, distributed systems, and microservices.Experience with Infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, etc.), CI/CD pipelines (GIT, Jenkins etc), and configuration management tools( Ansible, Chef etc).Experience with building a suite of monitoring services. Passion for creating and maintaining documentation and troubleshooting run books.Available for on-call support on a rotating basis. BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical fieldTeam player with excellent communication skills as well as the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.As a federal contractor, Workday is requiring all new hires to verify that they are fully-vaccinated against COVID-19 within 72 hours of beginning employment with Workday, consistent with applicable law. Workday is an equal opportunity employer. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location.
