You will be part of the Engineering team at ServiceTitan responsible for the technical development of our product and tooling platform. This team will contribute to our software development lifecycle by building out tools, libraries, and processes that will improve our development velocity, expand our test coverage, and enable fast, reliable, comprehensive automated coverage. The Director will be essential for managing competing priorities and delivering a quality tooling product on time to our engineering teams. The Director will also determine, own, and communicate the toolchain strategy and vision to the entire Engineering organization. We need a technically capable, forward-looking, experienced leader who can build best-in-class tools to be proud of across all segments of delivery - functional, acceptance, performance, security, disaster readiness, etc. We also desire someone who can balance rapid iteration and development with long term strategic thinking and who is innovative, confident, and comfortable with ambiguity.What you’ll doWork with Talent Acquisition and Leadership to hire a strong team of engineersManage the team of engineers completely - own their performance, processes, priorities, and long-term goalsIdentify and Drive organizational improvements through partnerships with other Directors and Engineering ManagersWork closely with feature engineering teams to identify and close technical gaps in our ability to deliver software at quality and at scalePartner with Engineering Leadership to ensure your goals are aligned with Engineering and Company goalsCommunicate effectively across the engineering and R&D organizationsBuild and improve our testing tooling and frameworks by working closely with Engineers and Automation Engineers to deliver a testing platform that enables every team to have velocity and find successWork closely with Developers and Architects to understand the product architecture to ensure we have sufficient and comprehensive testing gates across all levelsOwn the tooling and strategy from local machine through production while providing observability on adoption and impact. What you’ll bring:6+ years of managing small to medium-sized software development teams responsible for development, testing, and production support.4+ years building tooling for engineering teamsExpertise in the software development lifecycleStrong knowledge of public cloud technologies (Azure/AWS), infrastructure (Kubernetes and/or Docker), and devops tooling (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)Experience with code deployments and version control systems (Git), CI/CD tools (TeamCity, Jenkins, CircleCI, etc) Familiarity with the Test Pyramid and Agile Test Quadrants and other quality strategy conceptsStrong communication and technical-writing skillsB.S., M.S., or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.Be Human With Us:Being human isn’t about checking every box on a list. We thoughtfully consider a wide range of factors when determining individual compensation. The expected salary range for this role is between $137,000 - $196,000. Actual compensation for an individual may vary depending on skills, performance over time, qualifications, experience, and location. In addition to the base salary, the total compensation package also includes an annual bonus, equity and a holistic suite of benefits.
