Job Summary:Company: Cuffe & TaylorDepartment: FinanceLocation: Preston / LondonReports to: The Managing DirectorsWorking Hours: Full timeRole DescriptionThis role would suit an ambitious finance professional looking to take their first step into a Finance Director role. The Finance Director will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, accuracy, integrity, and transparency of the financials within the division. They should also have the ability and willingness to undertake and be responsible for a variety of tasks from creating flexible and integrated budgets and analysing financial data, to overseeing monthly transactional accounts, and undertaking variance analysis. They will work closely and report directly to the Managing Directors, as well as having a dotted line to Live Nation’s VP Finance. They should have career interest that extends beyond finance into operations management and leadership. They must be a good communicator, with the ability to work with a range of staff across all departments, have excellent analytical and spreadsheet skills, hands on experience as well as a formal accounting qualification such as ACA or ACCA/CIMA. Staff in the family collaborate and help each other, regardless of their role and there is a culture of progression and development throughout.The summer months are particularly busy and there is opportunity for the team to step out of their normal roles and help operationally with the running of events and tours.We are proud to be part of the Live Nation family and we have a good working relationship across the wider business that benefits everyone.Who you areCompetencies / Skills / Knowledge / Experience Proven track record as a successful finance professional Ideally with proven experience / knowledge of event budgets and operationsSound grasp of running a business, including demonstrable skills in risk analysis and forecasting, and the ability to interpret and communicate financial informationA forensic eye for detail and the ability to manage time and multiple tasks and meet deadlinesFully IT competent, particularly Excel and Oracle (or similar) AccountsKnowledge of Live Music commercial deals and structures of deals gained from previous ‘real world’ experienceUnderstanding of FX transactionsUnderstanding of Foreign Entertainers TaxUnderstanding of HMRC Theatre Tax Relief SchemeExceptional communication skillsBehaviours The following attributes determine how the role will be carried out and are required to be a successKnowledge of appropriate business approach, culture, practices, and proceduresUses own initiative, self-motivated and proactiveAbility to manage resources, and both senior and junior staff, including supporting of Managing Directors with financial managementNot afraid to drive change and rally the team to ensure results of the division are maximisedAn ability to challenge and hold to account senior members of the business in a professional and respectful wayAbility to communicate directly with the UK Board Members of Live Nation and / or Live Nation senior employees, and provide analytical responses to questionsOpen to new ways of working and providing timely responses to business-critical incidentsWhat the role includesLead the Preston based C&T Finance team, whilst also working closely with the London based LN Finance teamTake responsibility for event costings, from working with operations on initial budgeting, and forecast reporting, to finalisation and reconciliation to the General LedgerEnsure the accuracy of event reporting in all aspects including providing appropriate support for tour settlementsMaintain Fixed Cost forecast reporting, and submit to LN’s General Ledger team monthlyProduce monthly business packs, summarising actual results vs. budget and forecast, and attend monthly business meetings with the business leads and the Live Nation UK BoardRun Accruals and Deferrals reports at month end and prepare reclass / cut-off journalsAnalyse previous sales and marketing patterns in the business and provide analytics accordinglyNegotiate group deals with suppliers and provide challenge and critique to existing dealsAnalyse commercial arrangements with third party income partners and ensure revenue is being maximised Mystery shop events, ticketing platforms and other partners to ensure best practice and valueIdentify cost savings and missing income streams in the businessWork with Live Nation's VP Finance to identify business efficienciesImplement new systems and policies to improve processes within the businessAssist in all Finance aspects of tenders for new eventsEqual OpportunitiesWe are passionate and committed to our people and go beyond the rhetoric of diversity and inclusion.
