We are Customer Zero, the best example of Salesforce products delivered globally, at scale, sustainably.We’re looking for an experienced category manager to join the Business Technology Vendor Management Office (BT VMO) to drive vendor performance management, service management, and demand management for application services and/or infrastructure and IT operations. This category manager will focus on overseeing managed service providers and other vendors that are delivering services related to BT applications, including development and maintenance as well as delivering services related to IT service desk, network operations and infrastructure, and asset management. This role will be part of the Business Technology Strategy & Operations team and this is an individual contributor role that will report into the Director, Business Technology VMO.This is an office-flexible role for Dallas, TX, Indianapolis, IN or Atlanta, GA. In office expectations are 10 days/quarter to support customers and/or collaborate with their teams.Responsibilities:Partner with Business Partner Groups (BPG) and Strategic Sourcing team to define category-specific strategy (what to outsource vs. keep in house), aligned to broader Business Technology sourcing strategy (may include streamlining vendor landscape, reducing supplier costs, defining new engagements, etc.)Manage category demand, scope additions and changes, review proposals for new work, and partner with Strategic Sourcing team to align on sourcing strategyAct as liaison with Procurement for contract negotiations, remediation, renewals, and changesIn close partnership with your business partners, monitor and report on vendor performance - including monitoring service and operating level agreements, partner with VMO Ops to administer surveys, driving regular operational business reviews, monthly scorecards, etc.Focus on service management including performing proactive/predictive analytics, analyzing and reviewing key category metrics, volumes & trends, and engaging with internal stakeholdersWork with Risk Management partners to review and assess category-related risksPartner with VMO Ops to ensure relevant templates are available and updatedRequired Skills:Minimum 7 years experience managing geographically diverse operational functions within global, highly complex, matrix organizations7+ years relevant work experience in vendor management and/or a role where you were managing and interfacing directly with IT vendorsExperience standing up managed service providers and other outsourcing engagementsKnowledge of and experience with major outsourcing providersExtensive experience and knowledge with IT outsourcing lifecycle, including the ability to capture/articulate business requirements for RFPs/RFIsExperience partnering and working with cross-functional leadership teams including Finance, Security, Sourcing, ITCan work in a highly ambiguous and fast-moving environmentStrong communications, collaboration, and consensus building skills, particularly with senior IT leadershipUnderstanding of industry standards, business operations and regulatory requirementsInnovative approach to create new, effective VMO solutionsDemonstrates the Salesforce values of trust, operational excellence, and equalityExperience will be evaluated based on alignment to the core competencies for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer work, etc.).Salesforce, the Customer Success Platform and world's #1 CRM, empowers companies to connect with their customers in a whole new way.
