The role of SVP, Global Compensation is an active senior leadership role in the ES organization and a key partner to the executive suite tasked with setting the strategic vision for compensation at Salesforce. The SVP, Global Compensation focuses on providing leadership and oversight of the Compensation Operations, which aligns with our shared service Board Committee Support, notably the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors and occasional support for Audit, Nomination and Governance, and Mergers and Acquisitions. The SVP will have oversight and decision responsibility for global compensation programs impacting all employees, including Executives.Responsibilities:Lead the compensation organization with specific leadership focus on the global compensation center of expertise which includes direct management of the following areas:Compensation Committee and Board of Directors SupportSupport the Board Compensation Committee through preparation of quarterly and other ad-HPC meetings.Accountable for high quality and accurate content and proposals representing management recommendations around executive and other compensation matters considered by the Board Compensation Committee.Executive CompensationProvide support to SVP+ roles around compensation market pricing, modeling, and cash and equity recommendations.Interact with senior leaders around their personal compensation, and the same for their executive team members.Equity CompensationManage the stock pool budget and other metrics associated with stock based compensation.Provide quarterly estimates around multi-year SBC, burn rate and other stock related metrics.Compensation M&AWork with the ES M&A team to conduct M&A related diligence, integration and other M&A support related to compensation including executive compensation, broad based job leveling, equity awards, etc.Direct CompensationManage the overall job leveling, market pay practices, offer support, wage and hour, and other related activities around the broad based compensation requirements of employees.Compensation Business PartnersProvide support to the ES business partners around compensation program management including annual compensation planning, organization changes, G4G, and day to day needs around compensation management and administration to the business.Compensation Market InsightsManage the survey inventory and data analysis around our competitive position including range construction, budgeting, pay fairness, and all other supporting analytical work for the compensation team.Compensation OperationsProvide guidance to the Compensation Operations team as part of the shared services organization notably around annual compensation planning, technology support, job code management, policy management, G4G, and other program and project related compensation activities.International CompensationProvide indirect management to the regional and country based compensation resources who support the regional and country operating units.In an indirect manner, provide leadership and oversight of the Compensation Operations and International Compensation and Benefits organization which align with our shared services and international employee success organization.Define the compensation strategy for the organization in a manner that ensures appropriate architecture and governance for an overall workforce cost in excess of $20B.Provide effective, collaborative, and inclusive leadership grounded in humble leadership, a growth mindset, high standards, and a reputation for delivering results.Key Skills/Qualifications:20+ years of compensation experienceStrong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with senior executives & Board of DirectorsExcellent communicator (both written and verbal) with the ability to influence at the highest level in the organizationThe ability to present at the executive and BOD level on complex topicsStrong technical knowledge around equity expense accounting and valuationKnowledge of US SEC disclosures and compliance (SOX) as it relates to executive compensation and equity programs.Experience in the preparation of the annual Proxy including CD&A content and summary compensation tablesInteraction with shareholders around advocacy and communication of our executive compensation programs internallyExperience building, leading and working with teams spanning multiple geographiesExperience in working in fast-paced environments and also large enterprise software companiesExperience in frequent interface with the Compensation Committee consultant and other support personnel.Industry savvy, up to date, and energized by current and future industry trends on compensationAn inspiring leader and manager who can lead the compensation function as a member of the ES leadership teamProven ability to earn trust and credibility quickly.AccommodationsIf you require assistance due to a disability applying for open positions please submit a request via this Accommodations Request Form.Posting StatementAt Salesforce we believe that the business of business is to improve the state of our world.
