To get the best candidate experience, please consider applying for a maximum of 3 roles within 12 months to ensure you are not duplicating efforts.Job CategoryFinance and OperationsJob DetailsRole DescriptionAs a member of the Corporate Accounting team, you will be working in a fast-paced environment while building relationships within the accounting team and the larger organization (i.e. Finance & Strategy, Sales Compensation, and Compliance).  The Senior Accountant is responsible for many aspects of general ledger-related activities focused on the accounting for commission payments including ensuring proper application of US GAAP when recording accruals and other journal entries and preparing balance sheet account reconciliations. In addition, the role will be involved in the preparation of internal management reporting and analyses as well the creation of schedules for the 10-Q and 10-K, participate in ensuring proper SOX compliance, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. We are looking for someone who has excellent problem solving skills, is a strong communicator, thrives on process improvement, and enjoys working in a fast–paced environment to support our continued success. ResponsibilitiesComplete monthly accounting close procedures and results primarily relating to Salesforce’s earned commissions in the Americas (journal entries, reconciliations, reports)Ensure compliance of commissions accounting with ASC 340-40, Contracts with CustomersPrepare Balance Sheet account reconciliationsPrepare monthly consolidated P&L and Balance Sheet fluctuation analyses for management reportingAnalyze financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)Provide assistance with the 10Q and 10K by preparing/reviewing supporting schedulesWork with internal and external business partners (domestic and international) to ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and controls and provide support on special requestsAssist in coordinating quarterly reviews and SOX testing with internal and external auditorsAim to continuously improve the automation of accounting and reporting processes; rethink the status quo for continuous improvement and gaining efficienciesParticipate in various department-wide initiativesAd-hoc projects as necessary Experience/Skills RequiredDegree or equivalent relevant experience required.
