This leader will be responsible for inspirational sales leadership and management of growth within the Communications & Media Business Unit, through boldly growing top-line revenues and driving new business through the implementation of scalable, repeatable, structured systems and processes. Additionally, this leader will serve as a strong Business Leader, a Customer Partner, and a Talent Multiplier and will have the personal drive and commitment to both understand and successfully navigate a fast-growing, global company striving towards continued market domination in an evolving marketplace.Job Profile:The SVP, Sales - Communications & Media will be responsible for helping to set and execute Salesforce’s Communications & Media sales strategy. This executive will assume the leadership of a growing sales organization, including Area Vice Presidents (AVP), Regional Vice Presidents (RVP), and Account Executives (AE) to help steer complex enterprise deal transactionsSet and execute a bold customer acquisition strategy to generate growth in revenue and bookingsMaintain key customer relationships and develop and implement strategies for expanding the company’s customer baseMaintain strong reporting and accountability against numbers, working towards exceeding quotas, while developing and running motivating incentive toolsAct as a strategic leader with a point of view and advisor to the EVP, SalesWork closely with functions and other executives across the organization to establish and develop a strong and collaborative partnership to ensure continued successLead the overall sales process, set appropriate metrics for sales funnel managementPlan and lead at both the strategic and operational levelsRequired Skills/Experience:3rd or 4th line leadership experience leading teams in strategic sales in a national or global regionConsistent track record of recruiting, developing, and retaining a successful enterprise sales organizationConsistent overachievement of quota and revenue goals12+ years in software and/or applications sales (ideally in a CRM, ERP, or otherwise relevant software company), selling primarily to the CxO levelConfirmed ability to drive transformational change across a large organization: understands the drivers of how to change a culture, assess performance, continuously refresh a sales organization and build capabilityExcellent operational and analytical abilitiesConsistent track record of building satisfied, loyal, and referencable customersDynamic and strong sales execution approach with a passion for a fast-paced growing environmentShown success working within a highly matrixed organization and establishing relationships across all functionsExperience selling cloud-based enterprise applications is strongly preferredChampions diversity of team, thought, and opinion with a demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse team membersDegree or equivalent relevant experience required.
