We are looking for a Product Manager to join our Web of Science Product Management Team in China. This is an amazing opportunity to work on Web of Science, the citation database considered to be the gold standard in the academic community, and to help researchers make new discoveries from millions of journal articles and billions of citations. The team consists of 13 people and is reporting to the Senior Director, Product Management. The role sits within Clarivate’s Academic & Government segment, which also incorporates world class products from brands such as ProQuest and ExLibris. We have a great skill set in delivering customer value and we would love to speak with you if you have skills in product development in the scholarly publishing sector. About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments At least 3 year of experience in product management, business analysis or solutions analysis Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical (computer science, mechanical engineering, life science) discipline or at least 4 years of equivalent relevant experience Fluent English It would be great if you also had . . . Experience of writing product specifications and requirements/user stories in JIRA Experience in the scholarly publishing industry or academic research domain knowledge Good understanding of working in an Agile development environment or lean business process methodologies e.g. a diploma in business analysis (e.g. ISEB), Scrum Product Owner Master's degree or PhD What will you be doing in this role? Analysis of the business and user needs of customers and stakeholders to help identify business problems and propose solutions, with a specific focus on requirements from Chinese customers Managing the product development process for features in Web of Science from concept development through to launch; including analysis, communication and validation of business and user requirements Working closely with the cross-functional teams (e.g. User Experience, Software Development, Quality Assurance) to communicate and clarify requirements and ensure developments meet requirements by accepting completed work Documenting functional and non-functional requirements that will be used to guide software development, containing clear and unambiguous usage scenarios and acceptance criteria Building relationships with key internal stakeholders in order to maximize the use of resources and optimize the content and functionality of our product initiatives Staying updated about customer requests, changes in the industry and competitive environment to align product development activities to customer needs Assisting the product management team in quarterly prioritization and development of scope for regular releases Aid the QA team in reviewing test scripts (as required), communicating and clarifying requirements and engagement in the review and prioritisation of bugs. To provide guidance and input into all business model, customer education, marketing, and sales support activities, as required. We are a mix of product managers, solutions analysts and product operations professionals who work to build solutions to delight our customers and ensure the Web of Science helps researchers be more effective. The Web of Science product team work closely with our colleagues in sales, marketing and technology to deliver new value. Hours of Work Full time permanent role based in our Beijing office. Collaboration with team members in UK (GMT timezone), Bangalore, India (IST timezone) and Philadelphia, USA (EST timezone) is required so the ideal candidate would be able to work flexibly to accommodate meetings outside of core hours.
