We are looking for a Business Development Manager / Product Sales Manager (IP) to join our team. This is an amazing opportunity to work for Clarivate, a global market leader providing IP solutions for the entire IP lifecycle. You will be part of the Patent Intelligence & Search Product Sales team responsible for driving new business sales growth across the attorney-law firms and corporate EMEA market.The Product Sales Manager will be responsible for achieving sales growth and yearly quota through selling market leading Patent Intelligence & Search solutions into the DACH territory, including both existing customer accounts, as well as new accounts for Clarivate. The role will report into the EMEA Product Sales lead and will involve work in collaboration with other sales roles such as Account Mangers, Pre-Sales to implement and execute product sales strategies. If you have experience with IP, and/or with selling Patent Intelligence solutions either as a patent professional or as part of working for a service provider, we would love to speak with you.About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments3 years of previous working experience as:New business focused commercial role (Sales specialist/associate etc.) in a consultative selling environment,or alternatively as an in-house patent attorney or patent professional in an Intellectual Property team.Prior experience and in-depth domain knowledge of Patent Intelligence & Search solutionsNative German and Business English language skills are a “must have”It would be great if you also had . . .Possessing a very good understanding of the patent workflows and patent buying personasProven track record of business development and prospecting capabilityAbility to manage multi-stage process pipelineWillingness to travel for meeting customers and attending industry events (up to 1 week/month)A 3rd language at business level would be an advantageAssimilates new information quickly and ability to apply this knowledge to drive salesWhat will you be doing in this role?Implement and execute product sales strategies for achieving new business sales growth in the DACH territory for our Patent Intelligence & Search business through cross-selling, upselling, upgrades, uplifts etc.Utilize your patent domain expertise for working with marketing and other commercial teams to develop and execute sales campaigns, sales plays and lead generation activities, while positioning solutions to increase deal size and velocity.Drive prospecting activities for identifying and generating a robust new business patent intelligence solutions pipeline.Work in alignment with the Account Management teams and other commercial roles including Pre-Sales and Customer Success teams to create territory planning and develop sales strategies to maximize Clarivate’s footprint within our existing customer base. Cultivate strong customer relationships creating trust and confidence with senior stakeholders to become a trusted advisor for our target customers.Diligent management of opportunities in SFDC always ensuring pipeline hygiene and that information is kept up to date at all times.Contribute to and produce reports as required, including outlining current and proposed activities, customer visits,  pipeline activity and sales forecasts.Continuously acquire new intel and improve your knowledge and skills by pro-actively following relevant market, industry and product updates to enable your commercial success.About the TeamThe team you will be working with is a Product Sales new business focused team located across EMEA. You will also interact and work with the rest of the sales organization team, account management, presales consultants, marketing, sales operations and sales enablement teams.Hours of WorkThis is a full-time, permanent position.  It is expected that hours will be normal business hours, with occasional meetings with colleagues in other regions. You will be working in a hybrid model, both remotely but also up to 3 days per week from the office.
