We are looking for a Cataloguer to join our books business in Ringwood. You will prepare catalogue records and classify print books, e-books and AV materials to support the Company’s shelf ready services.About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments 1+ year experience in cataloging and classifying in an academic, special, public library or similar organization.1+ years experience of creating Marc 21 records and classifying in Dewey, LC and NLM.Postgraduate or graduate level qualification, preferably in Library and Information Science or its equivalent.What will you be doing in this role?Create full or CIP level MARC21 catalogue records (or UKMARC where applicable) to AACR2 or RDA standard.Source electronic records from internal and external databases, upgrading to full level if necessaryCreate classification numbers for items using Dewey Decimal, Library of Congress or NLM Classification schemes.Provide subject headings for items using Library of Congress subject headings or other schemes as appropriateCustomise Marc records, shelfmarks or classifications as required by the customer.Keep abreast of current developments in cataloguing, classification and metadata.Maintain statistics as requiredDevelop effective working relationships with other Clarivate teams.Ensure that all relevant company and departmental Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.Any other duties as may reasonably be required.About the Team This role will report into the Senior Cataloguing Coordinator working as part of a team 8 Cataloguers Hours of Work Permanent role, working hours are Monday to Friday 8am-4pm based in our Ringwood office.At Clarivate, we are committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all persons with respect to hiring, compensation, promotion, training, and other terms, conditions, and privileges of employment.
