The Scientific Solutions Consultant is a Business Development role that provides our clients with a range of bioinformatics, curation, knowledge management, and technology solutions. The role operates as a complement to our Sales team, with the independence to identify and develop new business with our top clients, as well as new clients. This position can be based near offices in US or EMEAAbout You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishmentsBachelor's degree in the Sciences, Masters preferredMinimum 10 years of experience in life sciences in a business development or sales roleA good understanding of selling and delivering of bioinformatics, knowledge management, curation, and custom technology (e.g. scientific data analysis and decision support software and/or computational models).Minimum 3-5 years creating new business, and converting that new business into closed deals that delight clients.It would be great if you also have . . .Advanced degree; PhD in sciences a plusExperience working for a services and/or product provider servicing Pharmaceutical, Biotech, and Non-profit researcher organizations.Excellent communication skills, including an ability to communicate with stakeholders from different professional backgrounds (scientists, sales, marketing, IT personnel) internally and externally, is required.Solution Selling experience.What will you be doing in this role?Pro-actively develop new relationships and work with new and existing contacts and clients in the Biopharma industry to understand business problems our Discovery & Translational Science team can provide to our clients.Identify new business for both existing and emerging solutions, working directly with clients and other internal Clarivate teams to translate new business into profitable projects for Clarivate.Participate in business development activities, building and maintaining long-term relationships with key account stakeholders and continuously fostering new business for long-term sales growth.Contribute to the strategy of Discovery & Translational Sciences, collecting client trends and new scientific methods, understanding competitor solutions, and liaising with the different teams to drive new offerings into the market.Facilitate the proposal development process, working with scientific, data science, technology domain experts, as well with sales and commercial services on pricing to create compelling proposals that win new business. Acts as a project manager of the proposal development process, facilitating the proposal development to meet client timelines.Maintains an accurate forecast of the pipeline in SFDC and reports on the pipeline in quarterly and ad-hoc meetings to review activity and pipeline progress.About the team...By working with managers of our bioinformatics team, knowledge management, and enabling technology, you will become a representative of the complete solutions portfolio with clients, with the ability to identify both new consulting solutions and trusted/repeatable solutions to our clients.
