Business Analyst - Intellectual Property

As a Business Analyst, you will own the Discovery phase within our software release cycle. You will thoroughly prepare new features or enhancements for our IP Management System IPfolio. You will then collaborate with Product Owners to deliver world-class business software to our client base.About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments  Excellent knowledge of Intellectual Property (IP) or a legal background 5+ years (Paralegal, IP Operations, Business Analyst, etc.)A general business knowledge and/or coursework, plus a curiosity to continuously build that knowledge  At least 5+ years using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Additional Relevant ExperiencePrior experience or interest in learning about the Salesforce PlatformA business analysis qualification or proven experience would be an advantageLanguage – Native fluency in any other language is a plusBusiness analysis software packagesWhat will you be doing in this role? The Business Analyst will work with clients from all industries and of all sizes. This could be a small Silicon Valley based startup to multi-national blue-chip companies.Document client requirements effectively and accurately, showing the difference between needs and wantsAssist the Product team with implementation workshops, including requirements gathering; workshop setup; analysis and problem resolutionAttend, and be an active participant in, internal and external meetings with regards to client implementation projectsAssist end users with software issues and escalate where appropriateWhat You Will Need to SucceedAbility to communicate and collaborate with customers and internal teams to analyze information needs and functional requirementsEffectiveness at documenting business process requirements using various methods such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow analysisAbility to assist with information analysis gathered from multiple sources, turn information into general understanding, and learn to distinguish between users wants and true needsAssist in the completion of workflow and functionality gap analysesAbility to coordinate with technical resources and subject matter experts to establish the end goal which may include trade-offs between usability and performanceAssist in coordinating business units, technology teams and support teamsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsOutstanding communication, presentation and leadership skillsExcellent organizational and time management skillsSharp analytical and problem-solving skillsCreative thinker with a visionAttention to detailsAbout the Team This role will report into the Head of IPFolio and will work closely alongside one other Business Analyst in the team whilst also collaborating with the Product Managers/Owners within the team.Hours of Work  This role is 40 hours per week and we offer a full-time permanent contract.
