Are you a technician who has customer facing experience and wishes to be part of a passionate company that is rapidly growing and can offer plenty of opportunity?We are looking for a Data Centre Technician to join a team that is at the core of our EQUINIX Operations department, where you will provide 7/24/365 support to the Data Centre and conduct circuit maintenance, installations and advanced testing.ResponsibilitiesInstallationsRacks and stacks customer equipmentInstalls customer equipment and cabinetsQueue ManagementFigures out work priorities from our ticketing system and ensures alignment to all commit timesTesting/TroubleshootingConducts carrier circuit testingCross ConnectsInstalls/Tests/Modifies cross connects per SOPs and ensures proper cable management of: coax, fiber, twisted pair copper and intra-building cross connectsInstalls and tests advanced cross connects circuits (switched, multiplexed, etc.)Installs and test IBX Link cross connects using Fluke and JDSU testersDocumentation/ReportingYou will maintain detailed written records of all work activityProjectsSupports fulfillment of projects with direction from senior staffTrainingFinishes all assigned training in a timely mannerCustomer ManagementYou will support customer happiness through timely and precise order executionQualificationsYou will have knowledge of the Data Center environmentExperience in Customer Service, Operation Center or Data Center Experience of Cat6a / Fibre Cabling techniques (Installation, Termination & Testing)Previous ISP or Telco BackgroundYou will need to be willing to work a shift rotatation that includes day and night shifts Extensive computer knowledge and familiarity (Windows 7/10).Good knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/ IPKnowledge of Basic Hardware configurationEquinix is an equal opportunity employer.
