We are looking for a Sr Staff Engineer to design and develop consistent APIs with microservices, interacting with multiple consumers, and abstract complex Enterprise Application workflows. Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop platform services and to collaborate with partner teams to understand their requirements and consumption patterns. Thus, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and product quality are essential. You will work closely with product engineering, architects, and product managers.ResponsibilitiesDesign, prototype, and develop new application features based on requirementsRepresent information coming from different sources (APIs) in different formatsDesign and implement APIs and backend microservicesDevelop unit test plans, test suites, and perform tests on software solutionsIntegrate software product(s) with other systems, test interfaces, and manage version controlInteract with stakeholder(s) to understand and document the product feature(s).Solve bugs, engage in troubleshooting, and interact with the internal developer communityAssist in analysis & evaluation of new technologies to meet the demand for product roadmap and technology platform goalsHelp in evaluation and recommendation of appropriate technologies for product features and platformAdvocate and Follow best design and development practices adhering to Engineering standardsWork in a Globally Distributed Development team environment with minimal supervisionParticipate in Design & Peer Code Review processQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field with 7+ years of professional software development experienceMinimum 5+ years expertise in application design & development with java technologies with expert knowledge of Spring Boot and Hibernate preferredStrong programming foundation with knowledge in Data Structures, Algorithms, and Design PatternsSolid understanding of object-oriented programming, design, and architectural patterns messaging and event-based systems, and REST API designHands-on experience in different architecture styles and designing & developing micro-services Expertise in using RDBMS technologies like Postgress or Oracle and No-SQL technologies including Cassandra, MongoDBHands-on experience design and development experience of running cloud-based SaaS/PaaS production system at one of the leading public cloud (AWS/Axure/GCP)Experience using Kubernetes, Docker, API Gateways, and Service Mesh and related technologiesExperience with Agile-scrum methodology and Test-driven developmentWorking Knowledge on Reactive/Functional Programming is highly desirableAbility to transition between programming languages and toolsetsAbility to effectively communicate new ideas and design tradeoffsBe a talent multiplier who gets the team around them to excelBe persistent, creative and driven to get results relentlesslyExhibit a strong backbone to challenge the status quo when neededExhibit a high level of curiosity, staying on top of the latest trends & technologiesShow pride of ownership and strive for excellence in everything undertakenThe targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:San Francisco, CA / Bay Area:  $143,000 to $235,000Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.This position may be offered in other locations.
