The Payroll Senior Specialist will be responsible for managing the payroll in our APAC countries with focus in Japan and China. ResponsibilitiesPayroll processing and maintain payroll records and reportsData collection and entry for monthly preparation of payroll for various countriesPrepare payroll journal entries and responsible for payroll month end close cycleProvide analysis for monthly activity for payroll related balance sheet account collaborationTimely execution of salary, taxes, pensions payroll and benefit related paymentsPrepare and maintain accurate and compliant records for internal and external audit control procedures. Responsible for all audit related inquires, escalating as neededAnalyze all variances and comment on all fluxes as required during financial close processCoordinate and collaborate with cross functional teams such as HR, Finance, Tax, Global Mobility in administration of payroll mattersManage local payroll vendors and research and resolves issues or problems on service providedSelect methods and techniques for obtaining solutions to improve payroll processes and operational policiesAttend to payroll queries from employeesStay up to date with local payroll regulationsRequirements5+ years of experience working in a payroll environmentBachelor's degree preferredStrong experience and in-depth knowledge of payrolls in Japan and ChinaEquinix is the world’s digital infrastructure company, operating 245+ data centers across the globe and providing interconnections to all the key clouds and networks. ResponsibilitiesGather and encompass a broad range of information on hours worked for each employee including full-time, part-time, extra duty & OTCalculate the correct amount incorporating overtime, deductions, bonuses etc. with assistance of a computer systemReceive approval from upper management for payments when neededRequirements and skills7+ Proven experience as a Snr payroll specialist with good experience working with a third-party Payroll VendorGood knowledge, understanding and experience of working with time off rules, time tracking of shift workers, leaves and the related compliance requirements, working in conjunction with our HR partners Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll taxes such as statutory taxes requirements like POI, etc.Familiar with all statutory filing matters in IndiaVery good knowledge of legislation and regulations of the fieldProficient in MS Office and good knowledge of relevant software and data baseTrustworthy with attention to confidentialityOutstanding organizational ability with great attention to detailExcellent communication skillsBSc/BA in business, accountingAdminister statements of payment to personnel either electronically or on paperOrganized, prepare and maintain all payroll records & information for certificated &/or classified personnelProcess taxes and payment of employee benefitsKeep track of hour rates, wages, compensation benefit rates, new hire information etc.Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and superiorsPrepare reports for upper management, finance department etc.Maintain payroll files & records, maintain payroll system, review and reconcile payroll records, provide information for Journal entriesHigh proficiency in spoken and written Japanese required to manage Japanese speaking stakeholders and vendorExperience with HR technologies such as Workday, SAP, PeoplesoftProficient with MS Office, advanced Excel skills including formulas, pivot table and VLOOKUP and capable of handling volume of dataProblem solving mindset & positive attitude.
