This individual will partner with the Net Zero Program Lead within the Sustainability Program Office and provide cross-functional support for decarbonization activities across the Equinix value-chain. Candidates will have a strong grasp of current GHG Protocol reporting requirements, preferably related to the ICT sector, and is familiar with working in GHG accounting platforms. ResponsibilitiesManages global greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory and execution of carbon accounting in alignment with industry best practices and Equinix climate commitments Engage with environmental sustainability leads to quantify carbon reduction initiatives, develop internal carbon reduction targets, and measure performance against these goals Engage with internal and external stakeholders to develop and manage Equinix’s positions on carbon accounting and green finance frameworks Support of sustainability reporting, including tracking and quantitative analysis of key environmental metrics and developing dashboardsExpectation to grow into an expert on data center, real estate and technology-related sustainability topics including deep expertise in technical sustainability concepts relevant to Equinix’s industryDevelop subject-matter expertise on ESG issues (environment, climate change resilience), environmental sustainability priorities (energy, carbon, renewable energy, PUE, water, biodiversity, waste etc.), diversity priorities and governance priorities (cybersecurity, public policy, procurement)Establish and manage relationships with internal stakeholders including supporting the Utilities & Energy team, Global Design & Construction, Global Operations, Procurement, Sales & Customers, Investor & Analyst Relations and Marketing Qualifications 5+ years of experience in sustainability 2+ years of experience with GHG accounting Bachelor's degree or equivalent in environmental science, statistics, mathematics, accounting, data science, or relevant STEM discipline required Master’s or MBA preferred but not required Strong attention to detail and the ability to translate complex sustainability topics to a broad range of audiencesWorking knowledge of sustainability programs specific to energy, environment and emissions (e.g. CDP, GRI, The Greenhouse Gas Protocol, Science-based Targets Initiative, etc.)Aptitude and excitement to lead various cross-functional work-streams while engaging a variety of teams at different levels (including executives)Demonstrated ability to manage multiple work-streams with competing and sometimes urgent deadlines and experience influencing upwards to keep programs and projects movingCommunicate clearly and effectively: verbally, in writing and through presentations; successfully interfacing with internal and external constituentsThe targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:California (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $104,000 to $172,000Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.This position may be offered in other locations.
