Controls EngineerEquinix is seeking a talented Control Engineer to join our team responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our data center infrastructure. As a Control Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our data centers are reliable, efficient, and secure.Responsibilities:Design, develop, and implement building management systems for data center.Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to monitor and control data center operations.Collaborating closely with suppliers and contractors regarding new and installed building management systemsWork closely with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure that building management systems are integrated and operate seamlessly with other systems and equipment.Develop and implement testing and validation procedures to ensure that building management systems meet performance and reliability requirements.Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for building management systems in the event of an issue or outage.Stay up to date with industry trends and apply best practices to improve our data center operations.Ensuring engineering infrastructure is maintained, operated, and handled in accordance with the appropriate standards to ensure reliability and performance to the highest possible levelsKeeping the team updated with security legislation and complianceUnderstanding and ensuring compliance with safe working systems, safety, and quality standards of both the company and the country in which work is undertakenSupporting for Incident Management reporting, Change Management, Critical Maintenance Requests approvalProblem SolvingConsistently solves complex, cross-functional issues requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolveMakes recommendations for system level enhancements to eliminate potential problemsTests suitability of components for deploymentsInternal/External ContactSupports in mentoring junior team membersAssists in directing teams per project or initiatives such general contractors, design teams, commissioning agents, equipment suppliers, etc.TrainingAcquires knowledge by expanding experience with systems, vendor training and shadowing othersIs SME with some systems and trains others inside and outside of the groupDevelop Policy/MethodsParticipates in review of policy and procedure documentsRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Control Engineering or related field.Experience of working in a data centre or similar critical environment.Experience with one or more brands of control systems including: ABB, Siemens, Honeywell, Schneider Electric, Andover or AVEVA (Wonderware), etcAny experience within Siemens / AVEVA System platform would be desirable.Knowledge of network technologies and Ethernet and other industrial communication networks is beneficial.Knowledge of virtualized platform is beneficial.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.If you meet these qualifications and are excited about the opportunity to work with a dynamic team at Equinix, please apply with your resume and cover letter.
