We look forward to coming to work each day to support Equinix and each other and highly value the “team first” culture we have created.The One Legal team at Equinix seeks a Legal Counsel, LatAM who will be primarily responsible for negotiating, drafting and managing various transactional agreements, including construction and vendor contracts, and provide labor & employment support for our Latin American Spanish-speaking countries (currently Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru), as well as partnering with our other Legal business colleagues for those countries in addressing ethics and compliance, privacy, regulatory, supplier & customer contracting, and other issues.  This role will be based in Brazil, Chile or ColombiaWhat you’ll be doingJoin a small team of lawyers representing Equinix in its Spanish speaking LatAm countries (currently, Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Chile) as a corporate generalist.Partner with senior labor & employment counsel in providing LatAm legal support to the organization on employee relations matters, but also coordinating with other legal colleagues to advise in the areas of privacy and regulatory.Draft and review employment contracts and collective bargaining agreements.Advise and respond to inquiries from internal stakeholders regarding LatAm labor & employment regulatory obligations in particular around Benefits and Payroll.Negotiate, review and draft a variety of legal contracts and documents (including but not limited to licensing (EULA), MSA, SOW, construction) and ensure compliance with Equinix applicable polices, procedures, and regulatory requirements.Identify areas of risk and collaborate with senior counsel and other Equinix stakeholders (e.g., finance, risk management, procurement, tax, operations) to formulate an appropriate response.Field inquires and legal process from a variety of law enforcement sources, balancing being a good corporate citizen with confidentiality obligations and expectations and creating win/win outcomes wherever possible.In collaboration with senior counsel and internal stakeholders, formulate strategy and responses to contractual disputes.Assist in managing contracts database.Develop and conduct trainings on Legal and compliance topics.Effectively and efficiently manage outside counsel. Navigate competing workflows, set appropriate priorities with internal clients, and deliver results within agreed timelines.Think creatively and devise solutions to challenging problems, including making and articulating determinations regarding risks and benefits.Exercise mature and reliable judgment while enjoying Equinix’s enthusiastic, informal and fast-paced environment.Flexibility and desire to work on challenging and new projects to support a lean and highly efficient legal team.Willingness to develop new areas of expertise and solve a wide variety of problems.What we’ll expect from youLaw degree from an accredited law school.Current member of a Bar association or legal association appliable to the jurisdiction of hire.Knowledge in the areas of Law: Business, Civil, Commercial and Labor.Previous experience in law office and strong labor and employment practice.Strong knowledge and experience in multinational companies.Language: candidate from Brazil: Fluent English and Spanish / candidates from Chile or Colombia: Fluent EnglishWhat will be the difference if you havePrevious work experience across multiple LatAm countries.Experience advising, leading and/or working with Corporate; Compliance programs and risk matrixes.Experience with contract management systems, supplier codes of conduct or supply chain management and in negotiating and implementing collective bargaining agreements.IT industry knowledge.Skills with corporate procurement practices and policies.Why EquinixEquinix is an equal employment opportunity employer.  All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard of race, color, religion, creed, national or ethnic origin, ancestry, place of birth, citizenship, sex, pregnancy / childbirth or related medical conditions, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital or domestic partnership status, age, veteran or military status, physical or mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, political / organizational affiliation, status as a victim or family member of a victim of crime or abuse, or any other status protected by applicable law.
