The Principal Solutions Architect will breakdown and simplify complex technologies into comprehensible terms, evangelize cross-functional solutions, enable responsible business outcomes, and identify strategic partnership opportunities. They will engage, influence and be able to relate to the C-level suite, managers, internal pre-sales and engineering teams in order to drive the company’s larger solutions forward and provide a roadmap vision to move the company forward in a way that aligns with the future of the industry. ResponsibilitiesInclude but are not limited to  Engage, build relationships, and influence Senior C-Level Executives as a trusted advisor within strategic company customer accounts to understand that company’s objectives to be used in future sales engagements Inspire, Drive, and Motivate the teamInfluence decision making at the strategic C-Suite level.Adeptly have a conversation with C-Level executives around business outcomes and switch to very technical conversations about solutions and features to facilitate and drive future transformational solutions Act as a well-rounded Subject Matter Expert (SME) that has the technical depth to confidently present in front of audiences of all personas and sizes Proactively support strategic sales opportunities with Premiere account teams by collaborating with them on internal meetings, joining customer calls and attending customer facing meetings Understand and communicate the value proposition of strategic and tactical concepts for complex customer use cases Participate in dynamic conversations about sales mechanics that will enable a positive influence on key stakeholders Act as an industry thought leader in customer meetings and public settings by understanding where the industry is headed and how our company can help our strategic partners accelerate the move forward in their business sectors Closely follow industry trends and direction to shape account team priorities and share information broadly across the global organizationRegularly evangelize solutions and roadmaps as one of our progressive thinking technical experts with customers, at industry conferences, trade shows, product management, and with scale partners   Continually increase job related knowledge and develop skills through formal education, self-study and independent work Incubate new emerging capabilities to determine potential business plan, route to monetization, key Partnerships, pilot concepts with clients and identify investmentsRequired SkillsCustomer focused with a strong business acumen Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication and presentation skills Ability to work with key stakeholders across the business and seamlessly deliver results Excellent executive engagement skills Excellent negotiation skills Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify value in an unstructured situation Strong public speaking skills with ability to simplify and explain complex problems to stakeholders of all levels across multiple functions Ability to influence and lead the solution conversation in a matrix environment A linear, logical thinking style with ability to break down and solve difficult problems Ability to give and receive constructive criticism Strong business acumen Emotional intelligence, flexible work style, and excellent diplomatic skills across all levels of the organization Superior organizational skills and project/time management abilities High-level ability to speak about the design principles for technical architectures and servicesStrong Technical knowledge up and down the technology stack Comfortable preparing and leading client and partner presentations at all levelsSolid skills and ability to speak about interrelated solutions, such as data center, cloud, networking, and securityProvides advanced technology solutioning support to Equinix global field, channel, GAM and Alliances salesDevelops the account technology strategy (application of Equinix IOA) with Equinix Account ExecutivesPrepares and conducts Customer workshopsPrepares and delivers of Customer presentationsDevelops peer relationships with customers at a Director / Senior Director LevelDemonstrates Equinix values through the provision of credible and convincing reasoning through compelling solutions to have a customer choose EquinixQualifications15+ Years in the functional domains of Network, Datacentre, Enterprise IT Systems, including Enterprise Architecture and Technical Architecture implementation preferred7+ Years of Solutions Selling in a commercial pre-sales position preferredBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related engineering discipline preferredMaster's degree in Computer Science or related engineering discipline preferredAdvanced industry certifications (i.e. Cisco, VMware, MS, AWS), TOGAF (v9 Part 1 and Part 2), ITIL 3.0, or CCIE-Written certification preferredThe targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:• California (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $206,000 to $371,000Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.This position may be offered in other locations.
