We embrace diversity in thought and contribution and are committed to providing an equitable work environment. that is foundational to our core values as a company and is vital to our success.Job SummaryThe Cross Functional Director, Operations leads, develops and mentors the national cross-functional team of engineering, maintenance standards, training, support staff and budget management personnel, whilst supporting the Data Center Operations site teams to maintain the industry's highest standards and availability. The ideal candidate will be values centered, passionate about collaborating and leading by example, creating an enjoyable work environment and developing teams to maintain Equinix's standards, all whilst doing everything possible to protect Equinix's customersResponsibilitiesLeads the cross-functional team of subject matter experts and managersProvides strategic guidance and direction to drive operational excellenceManages budgets, and implements resources to complete projects and maintenance within the data centerLeads the teams to ensure completion to Equinix's required standards, KPI's and SLA'sSupports the data center site teams working safely, effectively and with high regard to human error avoidanceEnsures correct processes are followed and all documentation is completeTakeover of new builds and building infrastructureReviews and approves Change Management requests and Method of Procedures (MOPs, scripts and permits)Communicates and coordinates activities and on-site staff during complex or severe customer-impacting incidentsDrives root cause analysis and provides a clear directionMakes recommendations for incident resolutionRisk, dark fibre, vendor and contract managementQualifications 15+ years of experience in Critical Environments requiring 100% availability10+ years of experience in complex Leadership / Management rolesDiploma/ Degree in Engineering or related industry field or relevant certifications and experienceDeep understanding of Data Center infrastructure or related critical environmentsDedication to delivering a great customer experienceEffective presentation skillExcellent verbal and written communication skillsOvertly collaborative and team-oriented mindset for accomplishing complex goalsHigh technical knowledge of computer software use (Microsoft applications & Email etc.)Demonstrated ability to consistently lead (any function) through uncertain and challenging timesEquinix is an Equal Employment Opportunity and, in the U.S., an Affirmative Action employer.
