Designs software systems.ResponsibilitiesWork in a globally distributed development team on Hybrid Multi-cloud Networking open-source softwareDevelop custom CLI commands, Terraform Plans, Ansible scripts to provision the infrastructure on Azure, AWS, GCP, etc. and make it open source to help communityCultivate Equinix’s open-source presence and reputation in open-source organizations, standards bodies and more like Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), Linux Foundation, etc. Interact with stakeholder(s) to understand and document the product feature(s)Provides a level of effort (LOE) for the product backlog. Work with technical project managers and product management teams to define a scheduleAssist in the analysis & evaluation of new technologies to meet the demand for product roadmap and technology platform goalsHelp in the evaluation and recommendation of appropriate technologies for product features and platformAdvocate and follow best design and development practices adhering to Engineering standardsPrioritizing and parallelizing the tasks in hand and dealing with ad-hoc requestsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of professional software development experienceMinimum of 6+ years of expertise in Go, Terraform Providers, CLI, Ansible, PythonHands-on 3+ years of experience with setting up Kubernetes (Container Orchestration), Istio (service-mesh), Nginx on Bare-Metal servers using Python, Ansible, CLI, Terraform interfacesMinimum 3+ years of Full-stack expertise in application design & development with Java technologies with knowledge of Spring, JPA/Hibernate, Message Queues & Workflow Engines with microservices architectureHands-on experience with continuous integration and delivery using a public cloud such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and container technologies such as Docker, Rancher, etcProfessional Experience architecting, building, deploying, and maintaining customer-facing & cloud-native applications at scale in an innovative engineering environmentStrong programming foundation with knowledge of Data Structures, Algorithms, and Design PatternsDevOps mindset to improve CICD using GitHub Actions and review DORA metrics to improve processesThe targeted pay range for this position in the following location is:San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $143,000 to $235,000Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.This position may be offered in other locations.
