This role can be based in Dallas or Toronto (US knowledge essential).ResponsibilitiesIndependently lead negotiations and project manage all types of real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, leases, financing, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, development agreements, management agreementsInterpret contracts, provide legal advice and resolve disputes arising with respect to existing real estate portfolio, corporate development projects and construction projectsProvide general legal support to the organization, including review and negotiation of licenses, supplier contracts, power purchase agreements, and infrastructure agreementsEffectively and efficiently manage outside counsel. Adapt to and understand local customs with respect to real estate transactionsWork with and coordinate activities among individuals in various departments around the world, including tax, finance, compliance, design and construction, and corporate developmentNavigate competing workflows, set appropriate priorities with clients and deliver results within agreed timelinesThink creatively and devise solutions to challenging problems, including making and articulating determinations regarding risks and benefitsExercise mature and reliable judgment while enjoying Equinix’s enthusiastic, informal and fast-paced environmentFlexibility and desire to work on challenging and new projects to support a lean and highly efficient legal teamWillingness to develop new areas of expertise and solve problemsQualifications 2-4 years of relevant law firm or in-house experience, with at least 1-2 years of dedicated transactional real estate practiceDemonstrated ability to be the point person responsible for negotiating and closing transactionsStrong communication, leadership and organizational skillsDemonstrated ability to manage a demanding workloadExperience or familiarity with data centers and the colocation and telecommunications services industries a plusExperience working in a culturally diverse and global company a plusEquinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
