You will be successful working with our customers and suppliers to capture, design and quote complex data centre and interconnect requirements and the necessary components critical for the delivery of Equinix services. You will be the lead technical interface between our customers and operational teams, deeply understanding the mechanical, electrical, connectivity and operational aspects of our International Business Exchange (IBX) facilities in order to ensure we accommodate the demands of our customers to the highest standard. In addition, you will support the sales teams through hosting and touring existing customers of Equinix through our International Business Exchange (IBX) facilities in Melbourne.This role is critical to the success of the Sales Engineering team and the wider sales team, and will focus on delivering quality and consistency in the way we engage with our suppliers during the sales cycle, as well as providing exemplary support and service to our existing customer base through detailed technical knowledge on all Equinix products and services.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for pre-sale support of all Equinix products and services, including but not limited to:High level physical, mechanical and electrical design covering cages, computer racks/cabinets, cross-connects and all associated infrastructureCosting of customer designs as aboveWorking closely with our operational teams to ensure design complianceProvides technical support in sales presentations, customer meetings, trade shows, and other forums, including leading detailed technical data center tours.Responsible for handoff of solution designs to ordering functions, Customer Service groups and Project Management teamsProvides answers to customer inquiries concerning all Equinix products and servicesAssists in RFI/P/Q preparation as requestedTrusted advisor to our customers, understanding their business needs and clearly articulating and positioning Platform EquinixBuild strong relationships with technical stakeholders in accountsWorks closely with sales teams to foster new business and maintain existing customer relationshipsProvide customers with timely responses to questions (RFIs) and requests for quotes ensuring their expectations are metAttend sales conferences or industry meetings as requiredAny other additional work as assigned by the ManagerQualifications10+ years experience in Sales Support or Presales position desirable, or a related customer-facing role in a related industryDesirable experience on the buy side or sell side of a major cloud service provider or similar companyBachelor degree or above, Major in Computer Science or EngineeringFamiliar with IP routing and bandwidth services including ASN, BGP and peeringFamiliar with data center and bandwidth and peering products would be beneficialFamiliar with RFI response writingRequires a relevant degree or equivalent experience in computer-related fieldExperience working on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factorsKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesExcellent communication and customer interaction skillsAble to work under time and customer pressureAbility to exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutionsAbility to understand and explain related technical issues, thorough knowledge of company products, all potential applications and associated technologiesKnowledge of data centre and telecommunications design and conceptsComputer knowledge, familiar with; Microsoft Office and sales management toolsEquinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
