Sales EngineerJob SummarySales engineering position selling Equinix solutions to new accounts and/or expanding existing accounts. Focus will be on supporting mid market enterprise accounts.ResponsibilitiesTechnical Consulting and Sales SupportIdentifies customer’s business needs, challenges, and technical requirements and maps to Equinix solutionsUtilizes understanding of Equinix products and services to deliver pitch on Equinix solutionsAnalyzes situations and data on problems of moderate scope independentlyProvides full support for small to mid-size customer meetings and toursSolution Design and DeliverablesProvides technical solution design expertise to all assigned Sales account executivesExercises judgment to solve customer issues that are outside of of standard procedures appropriatelySupports moderately complex RFI/P/Q preparation as requested by Sales RepresentativesDevelops all deliverables for the customer with minimal oversight from Sales Engineering Management and/or peersCustomer ServiceCommunicates with customers (internal and external) in a professional, friendly and effective manner, both verbally and in writingSupports pre-sales efforts for all company products and servicesProvides good technical support in sales presentations, customer meetings and trade showsAble to problem solve a variety issue and execute solutionsBusiness and Market Expertise Demonstrates a full understanding of Equinix data center, Network, and Cloud products and servicesPossesses industry knowledge and familiarity with the competitive landscapeCollaboration / CommunicationAssists sales teams in efforts to earn new business and maintain existing customer relationshipsCollaborates with internal teams (CSM, OM, IM, Ops, etc.) to ensure smooth project transition from pre-sales to post-salesActive participant in cultivating positive culture on the teamDemonstrates good presentation skillsTeam LeadershipProvides feedback on various business opportunities and issuesQualifications5+ years customer facing experience in related industry preferredBachelor's degree in Engineering or IT preferredThe targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:San Francisco, CA / Bay Area:  $132,000 to $197,000Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.The targeted pay range displayed reflects On-Target Earnings or OTE, which is base pay plus commissions, and does not include equity or benefits.
