Our networking systems and software are key to collapsing network layer functionality such as Subscriber Management, Routing thereby simplifying network operations.Calix is seeking an experienced Software Manager to lead and grow the Broadband Network Gateway (BNG), Subscriber Management team. They would also be driving innovative solutions to support forward looking architectures and use-cases targeting virtualizing network functions. We are dramatically leapfrogging the competition with a new suite of products – we are hiring the best to build the best for our expanding customer base.Responsibilities and Duties:Lead the BNG development team which is building Access and Edge network solutions to deliver an innovative service delivery platform which enables service and workflow automation, achieves operational efficiency, and enables multi-tenancyDrive the architecture and design decisions, keeping product needs and TTM in focusWork with the global cross-functional team-leads to plan the work and distribute ownership/responsibilities to accelerate deliveryWork with Software Stack vendors on their release plans and feature interlockDrive field escalations, working cross-functionally to resolve issues in timely fashionParticipate in Design/Code reviews, Architecture discussions, and drive execution with a goal to continuous Software Development process improvementsBe active partner in hiring process to grow the teamLead and mentor the team, by providing timely and constructive feedbackQualifications:Calix requires all employees based in North America who will work onsite at a Calix office, attend in-person meetings, and/or travel on behalf of Calix to be fully vaccinated. Calix will consider requests for reasonable accommodations as required under applicable law.Must have 15+ years of experience in design and development of BNG suite of protocols (IPAM, DHCPv4/v6 Server/Relay/Snooping, PPPoE, H-QoS, Subscriber Management, Dynamic/Static Policies, ACLs, IGMP Multicast, Snooping, BFD, VRRP, LACP, Traffic Management, CALEA Lawful Intercept)5+ years of managing high performing teams with solid track record of delivering quality softwareStrong skills in managing design and architectural decisions and right trade-offsGood understanding of Forwarding plane and merchant silicon chipsets/SDK (Jericho experience is a plus) for BNG implementationKnowledge of Segment Routing (SR-MPLS, TI-LFA) is a big plusExperience with Network virtualization technologies including SDN/NFV and vBNG trade-offsAdept in C/C++/Python in multi-core/multi-threaded environment running on LinuxExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHigh level of integrity and sense of urgency with laser sharp focus on qualityAbility to balance multiple competing priorities and apply excellent business judgment when making trade-offsMS in CS/EE or similar degree or related technical skillsLocation:Remote-based position located in the United States or Canada.#LI-Remote
