The Director is responsible for architecting, driving roadmap and delivering technologically as well as functionally differentiated product / solution offerings that work in a variety of deployment models including SaaS, Hybrid, On-premise, etc. Successful candidates will bring a strong technical background in open source and cloud technologies with deep knowledge of omni-channel B2C as well as B2B commerce, strong experience in leading teams through design, delivery, client support.  Ideal candidate would also be experienced in playing the role of a trusted technical advisor at one or more large retailers.OverviewThe Project Director, Product Development has overall responsibility for architecture, technical roadmap, planning and delivery of one or more services with their own release / deployment life cycle.  This includes all aspects of product development, including oversight of hiring, retention, architecture, code reviews, engineering quality gates including test automation & performance, design best practices, deployment, ensuring right monitoring and alerting in SaaS production, incident response, break/fix support etc.  Manages agile development process including status reporting.  The role requires strong collaboration with product management team, other services development teams, particularly in conceiving and delivering innovative synergies across the rich portfolio of Blue Yonder products.  Collaborates with pre-sales, sales, services, sometimes working directly with key customers as trusted technical advisory from Engineering.Job DescriptionDevelops, maintains, and implements several projects across multiple teams.Demonstrates expertise in applicable technologies, products, and tools.Applies domain concepts into the solution and product area.Demonstrates command over the product and its architecture to design services that have a distinct set of Wow features to create differentiated offering.Identifies platforms and technologies to be used in the product.Understands Blue Yonder’s platform technologies, and leverages them as needed within the product to ensure a consistent consumption experience across Blue Yonder’s services.Compliant with CSO directives on security within the product architecture and production deploymentArchitects the services that are HA, resilient, reliable, horizontally scalable, ultra-low latency, extensible and well documented for target audience to easily consume.Ensures that the services are architected to achieve the SaaS margins that are targeted by keeping the runtime costs and the operate / support costs minimal.Ensures the solution is strongly differentiated and immediately makes a market impact upon launch.Manages technical issues, coding, and configuration to ensure delivery of module and project.Project manages including release planning, delivery, monitoring progress and reporting.Formulates tactical plans for development and ensures timely execution of projects.Facilitates cross-team communication on reporting progress and resolving impediments.Assesses project performance and communicates lessons learned to increase institutional knowledge.Ensures teams adhere to development processes and RASSUI quality standards.Provides guidance, feedback, coaching, and developmental experiences to the team.Provides feedback to team on career path and guides them in continuous development and learning.Conducts appraisals, provides feedback, and handles work allocations for direct reports and approves the same for indirect reports.Recognizes and escalates personnel-related impediments of the team.Participates with product leadership in formulation of overall product and organizational strategy.Drives consensus across multiple inputs, drives to a common goal, and makes decisions when needed.Collaborates across diverse teams to achieve outstanding, visionary technical results.Responsibilities: Lead the vision, organization, delivery and operation of the product across multiple regions and teams.Build and grow a highly skilled, cross-functional engineering teams across the globe that deliver platforms enabling BY’s Digital Transformation. Provides customer service to our technology and business partners for onboarding, adoption, and documentation.Qualifications:·       10+ years’ experience in technology & architecture roles, thoroughbred in commerce industry·       Should be able to communicate with product owners and stakeholders each technology and the benefits/tradeoffs of each solution.·       Must be able to articulate and/or have experience with the lifecycle of software and service development from source into production.·       Extensive background in working with business partners: Translating business needs into prioritized technology features and requirements·       Proven track record of being results oriented with demonstrated ability to achieve aggressive goals·       Proven presentation and facilitation skills·       Strong executive level communication skills·       Experience with Agile software development methodology·       Must excel working in team-oriented roles that rely on ability to collaborate with others·       Self-directed and comfortable working in ambiguous environments·       Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence others internally and externally·       A Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent related industry experience.Preferred skills:Well versed in high-volume, highly transactional systemsExperienced in UI design and developmentExpert in any scripting languageFamiliarity with Machine Learning paradigmsUnderstanding of enterprise security requirements associated with Azure cloud technologies.*LI-SR1*LI-REMOTE-------------------------------------------The salary range for this position is: USD $147,882.00 - $210,760.00The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data.  Minimums and maximums may vary based on location.  Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors.  In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.At Blue Yonder, we care about the wellbeing of our employees and those most important to them.
