Responsibilities
In this position you will develop and execute on test plans of Rivian’s Charging & Energy products
Work closely with the Certification and Validation teams to understand test requirements
Develop test procedures to define instructions on test execution for new and existing products
Design and modify test fixtures and instrumentation to support new to market products
Provide direction to lab personnel (both internal and external) in setting up and executing system tests
Work with multiple external lab partners to setup, execute, and monitor testing
Analyze test data and write test reports to be reviewed by various stakeholders
Log Jira tickets for and manage to resolution potential software and hardware defects
Support hands on technical root cause analysis and resolution of issues found during testing
Lead tear down analysis, and the post-test-processing of hardware at end-of-test
Occasional participation in DFMEA development
Qualifications
BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of experience in a test engineering role with emphasis on power conversion equipment
Skilled in hardware and software testing at a system level
Prior experience in test plan development, equipment selection and test execution
Familiarity with CAN, Ethernet, Linux, LabView
Hands on approach to testing, debugging, and troubleshooting
Experience working with medium and high voltage systems
Strong technical communication and documentation skills
Exposure to Industry Standards such as MIL-STD-50G, UL 50E, UL 2231, UL 2202, or similar environmental and charging standards
Exposure to ISO 17025, ILAC, or A2LA Laboratory accreditation standards and practices a plus
Test automation experience is a plus
~20% Domestic and/or International Travel.
Salary range for California Based Applicants: $150,000-$173,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
